| AI all the way. For starters the Ai on HeroesWM isn't half bad, it targets the archers foremost which is what people do anyway. Beyond that though an AI would keep the non-AFKers much happier at least to know that their numbers are reduced by half or a third in a mere second. The simple solution is to allow the fight to continue with AI but then the AFk loses all experience for the match - why should he get anything if he got ticked off and left the match cause he was losing. And as stated, if it's one of those "mysterious computer malfunctions" then they won't mind the 1 time loss of the experience. Right? |
The solution is simple, make a thread showing times when you got afkers,
would be nicer to before Pm afkers to ask for explanation when they online, if they dont answer then post here their Id and the combat reference (from combat log), the afkers still get a chance to reply and give explanation or make apologies there, and from those who dont reply or just post insults then expect same behaviour from them again and again so its up to you to decide if you want to avoid them. |
I like Daegan's idea. It allows for people to have legit reasons for going afk and still punishes people who make a habit of going afk.
Also I think that instead of ai taking over, it might be a better idea if before going into battle there is an option to select a team leader, that person then becomes able to control the afks troops. If a team leader is not selected then the person on team with the highest exp automatically becomes team leader. The afk would not receive their exp, instead it can be given to the members of his team. |

| I tend to play at work so have occasionally had to leave in the middle of a battle. I would love an option to set a AI playing for me and get nothing from the battle, have the troops and mana have to refill from 0 and take the luck penalty... even get fired from my current job and have that counter reset to the hour |
