lvl 4 black dragon, beat by lvl 9 wizards. We would have won the whole thing if the lvl 6 dark elf didn't go afk on the 3rd wave. Magic punch does seem to work, since these leaders don't have too much health. (Barb with thrusting might and weighty weapons would be really good too). |

because it is a low level boss
lev9 bosses have over 2000 hp and a wizard can only deal around 150 damage at most each turn. So they would need around 14 hero turns.
or 7 hero turns if there are 2 wizard, or 5 hero turns if there are 3 wizards
But usually they dont last that long |

I know it was really low level, but my point is that we low level wizards were able to kill it (without a 3rd partner). Also, level 14+ wizards can go as nature build for firewall and summon elementals, which will let them do a powerful magic punch.
My main point is that if 2 lvl 9 wizards can beat a lvl 4 black dragon, it should scale up for high level wizards. |

In my opinion,the best team to kill these bosses is to have
*1 magic wiz to deal damage to the troops with fireball if he's high lvl(else punch the boss)
*1 might necro to deal damage to the boss with the vamps and skeletal bows
*1 might DE to deal damage to the troops [and if able damage to the boss with shrews(normally they never last long)].
So the main attacker will be the necro,and the others will be taking cover so the troops don't deal a great damage |

tis a BS discussion this. BS = blood sister, by the way ;) honest.
all depends on luck in the first 3 waves. for example in one 2nd wave today, faced a DE mage with 17 DW, 64 BS, 70 brisks and 40-60 mino taskmasters. try getting through that then beating anything afterwards.
so yeah, have a nice easy ride through the first 3 waves and your options are open against black dragon bosses.
best team combo IMO is wiz, knight and necro. although my most favourite battle vs level 8 hero was with a might DE and knight. |
