It is very annoying when players suddenly have different names. It was more then enough with the merge. | | vbFifi it was free only if your name already existed on .ru | +1
I don't need it myself,
but if I recall correctly, the 'space' character wasn't allowed when I registered.
I first thought that it was built into the "Lord " and "Lady " prefixes when we had the merge, but I was wrong and the 'space' is actually a valid character since.
It's a bit odd if people like Godfather_Nekr wanted Godfather Nekr but have to make do with _ then, but not now.
2-word names separated by underscore is a bit awkward at best :/
I must admit I felt a bit annoyed as well, but only for a minute. My impression shouldn't be part of their decision.
Plus, I see nothing wrong with #10, it could be a bit like the magnifying glass for UCI. | +1
At first, I was opposed to the idea because it seemed frivilous and, quite frankly pointless. But reading other posts, it does make sense to offer 1 free name change (perhaps after x-months of playing and past x-combat level) I only suggest this to prevent new players from just quickly changing their names.
Maybe 12-months and past CL 7 or 8 would be a good pre-req for a free name change.
Gender change is different... I don't agree with that because players would simply be changing their genders to suit personal benefits (Such as marriage for estates or use of gifts at certain combat levels) If you want personal benefits from special game features... use diamonds, help the game survive.
Name changes are just cosmetic, and reflect a players taste. It doesnt give an edge in battle like gender can do in some cases. It also doesnt necessarily count as "dodging" people/reputation if it is revealed in the transfer log like the merger name changes.
So, concluding:
+1 name change (one free, 1 more w/ diamonds)
-1 gender change (infinite w/ diamonds) |
