Oh, just to add, I armed myself with

Reprisal Sword, Defender Shield, Leather Armor, Hunter Glove, Hunter Hat and Hunter Pendant

during the fight. It was the first time I armed myself with arts during a hunt, and still, it was a no-contest. :/
1) Better wait till lvl 5.

2) It means that that they will do full damage in melee. shooters withouth this ability do only 50% damage in melee.

3) It means their ranged damage is halved.

4) melee hits also inflict poison.

5 & 6) knights can't stop poison at lvl 4. It will stop by itself after some turns.

Well, even if it stops after a few turns, u'll get poisoned again as soon as they hit u again (right?). So no consolation in that bit of news. haha..

@jedi-knight -no melee penalty means they hit for 100% in hand to hand combat,
-ranged penalty means they do 50% from afar (25% if out of range)
-you get poisoned from both arrows and melee hit

Do NOT split your swordsmen, instead take out an archer and use it in farmers so you will have 1 stack of archers, 1 of swordsmen and 5 of farmers.Try not to make them go into melee because u have big shield and they do only 50% damage from ranged attack,so you take only 25% of damage.Poison for swordsmen isn't that bad due to their low initiative.

If Swordmen don't go into melle, then how can my Swordsmen do any damage(??). Swordsmen can only hit an enemy up close, no (??)
by concentrating on 1 stack, so all other stacks can continue to shot, while you are in melee combat with only 1.
i turned level 4 today and i have training chambers and 2 racial skill what recruting should i take ?

Here's the battles of how the correct strategy and troop composition can make ALL the difference in a battle. I'm at the same lvl (4), same faction lvl (2), and using the same arts, facing the same number of the same enemies.

For those knights coming up to lvl 4, watching these battles will help u loads ! :)

hi guys. i have just become a lv 5 knight. so, i have some Qs about the new changes.

1. now talent is available. i m concerned about which one i shall choose. is escort the first requirement for a knight to begin with?

2. is it worthy for a knight to use spells? i find it very costly for a knight to use magic by spending ability points (knowledge and spell power), talent points and buildings. if i walk on a non-magic path of knight, what will i miss in the long run?

3. i think knight troops are slow and weak. dark elves, wizards and elves like clearing my farmers and bowmen at first, leaving my swordsmen alone to fight. spells and mini arts are very serious problems. i cant hold at the end. what can i do?

4. is defense or leadership better to solve the problems in Q3?

5. how to get rid of AP? it makes combats expensive.

2. Not, all to defence .. :) Reason : U have to be the last longer to stay, do not worries against Wizards and magic, ur numbers is the best .. :) Remember Knights are the SLOWEST .. :)
3. Add MORALE, add luck .. :) and Add the number 3 :)

5. Fight with min AP, focus on hunting and some group battles (max. 10), then some mercenaries, be careful on elves and wizards brigands and armies, they are the strongest .. :) For Mercenaries, better buy a hauberks and Reprisal, that is enough .. :)

Hmmm.. something's not right here...

I was just in a hunt, and faced 3 bowmen, just like the bowmen I have. The thing is, when my bowmen attack the enemy (same bowmen), the damage is about 15, but when the enemy's bowmen attacked me, the damage was 50 !!

Curious, I looked at the stats of my bowmen, and my enemies... and THEY ARE THE SAME !

This is the stats for the bowmen on both sides -

Attack: 10
Defense: 5
Damage: 2/4
HP: 7/7
Speed: 4
Initiative: 9
Shots: 10
Morale: 1
Luck: 0
Range: 6

So, why are my enemies' bowmen able to inflict so much damage compared to my bowmen... (???) It was not even a close fight eventhough we have the same stats for bowmen, and I have Swordsmen, which my enemy don't (!) Ridiculous ! ggrrrr....

This is the battle, and tell me if I'm missing something here.. (pretty sure I didn't) :/

enemy deals more damage because enemy is around 5 more times bigger than you, this is very common sense.

To make things simple, u got 7x(7/7)in a single stack, enemy has 35x(7/7).

Its like 7 people try beating up 35 people! hahahahahahahahaha!!!

You are definitely a confused knight!
Pls explain to me how can the bowmen have 4 attack and jedi 5 and still his bowmen have 10 attack?

Hunt monsters or troops have default attack and defense.

Hero's troops are stronger due to effect from hero's stats.
i mean 5+4=9 not 10 but i forgot bonus from HG isn't shown on hero

i tried em for combat. thier retal is good but they can't retal much since their hitpoints are low and so die first.

2. spell casters (eg magis and druids) like killing the griffins first. what can i do against em?

Bonuses from Guilds are shown in the heroes parameters, but you forgot about factionlvl. Jedi-Knight has factionlvl 2 which means his troops get +1 Def (flvl 1) and +1 Att (lvl 2). Thus one additional attackpoint, the one you are missing.

Simple, don't move griffs foward to fast!

but they like clearing griffins first.

if i stay back, bowmen and druids do it. if i move forward, more melee attacks are done by them. and griffin's hp is not high
but griffins are really fast, they are flyer and have good speed
so you should be able to get first strike on enemies melee stack in about more than 60% of your games
distract enemies shooter with your bowmen, make shure your griffins aren't in range of enemies' shooter until you hit him hard at his melee units and then let your swords finish off what remains
don't make the mistake sacrifycing your griffins at unimportant targets, don't rush just because it's griffins turn.
for elbuster: Griffins are my winning move in every battle, with good arts, they excel at both defense and offense.

The trick is not to over-use them i.e. Dont rush at beginning, and wait for a while for melee to come near.

Kill'em OFC. If they are attacking griffs with magic, kil'em with bowmen,as simple as that.

They are really a good match. Distract ranged and melee units with griffs, then buy this time for swords, by the time the griffs are dead, the swords will have already near the enemy.

BTW, I have a problem :

I have done every MG i can, and now its becoming impossible, and soon the hunts will also become impossible.So I wont go for TG, instead anyone can give tips on PvP - Duels against Barbs,Elves etc. ?
