Can't argue with Jabbar. ;)
But to defend my position, I just get bothered when people that are higher lvl think they are better than others just because the other person is a lower lvl or vice versa. I do realize in the majority of the case that is true but people treat it like it is a law. That's why I do acknowledge that experience helps but it doesn't trump strategy.

I don't know if I come across as thinking I'm the best, but if you got that impression from me, I'm sorry. I don't think that. In fact I feel I benefitted from the fact that some of the better wizards already moved up to lvl 8 or 9. (I lvl slowly and take many breaks ;) ) |

Well I view there are players that made a lot of money - the ones that sold "hot" arts during the tournament. |
61: I am only talking in general , was not referring to you or anyone else specific. The winner of a tournament might indeed be the best of his level or he might not, I am just pointing to the fact that one tournament alone or two is not enough to show that.
I believe discussion about this tournament should end here, congratulations once again to all the winners and time to move on and wait more updates! |

Well...thanks for supporting my view on the the "10% rule." The discrepancy of distribution related to this rule within levels only occurred as far as I can see on level 10 (but between levels on 11 and 12). It is not the value of the 20k gold difference among some of the 1st place finishers that is frustrating to me but the principal of the matter (the prize itself is a symbol of recognition by Empire which I feel was not distributed fairly/correctly).
I also want to clarify that I do not think that higher level players deserve more prize money but, on the contrary, think it should have been equal among all 1st place finishers both between and within levels. 3rd place on level 7 should not receive more gold than 1st place at level 11.
I also want to clarify that in no way do I think I am a better player than others within my race or level (I do not play PvP and am sure I would get slaughtered by most players in combat) but feel I deserve (and the other top finishers from wizard and necro) the same prize/recognition as the other top faction scorers among level 10.
My comment about the "best" players in the game (e.g. are "among" the players found at higher levels) was a generalization and meant to be taken in the context of the statistically incorrect 10% rule (< 10 players per racial/level being rounded to 0) which punishes the higher level players with fewer competitors presumably because it is deemed there is not enough competition for them. On the contrary I think the competition is very intense at the higher levels even with fewer players.
I want to congratulate all tournament participants for their efforts. It was my first tournament and certainly very enjoyable. I do hope the admins will take my arguments into consideration for future tournaments related to equality of prize distribution.
Thanx |
First of all, I enjoyed the tournament very much, painfully at the same time. It is hug time drain for a wizard. :p
As one of my friends said, it is not about beating others in this tournament; it is to beat yourself at it. It has to be planed and executed almost perfectly, and with a little luck here and there. Falayalaralfali's top score battle is a perfect example of that. My congratulations to him!
As for the distribution of the incentive reward, I get the same feeling as Falayalaralfali does. Rounding down is fine but to 0 is a bit weird. My guess would be the script for calculating the reward is flawed. :D
To me this effectively pushing people off the factions with less players, which is not a good gesture to keep game balanced. See how many high level wizards moved away. We don't need another push the same direction.
Enough of my rumbling, now let's wish for the next big events. :) |
WIzards and necros always have more advantages every time the tourneys held .. ^^
Wizards with High spell and Sorceries talents give them enough time to kill more .. just do not forget to save mana as many as possible .. do not be lack of mana ..
Necros with Raise of the dead .. and low intelligent of the AI .. give them also many advantages .. ^^ they will survive longest .. even at Group battles and Duels ...
Best regards,

yes, wizards are stronger
but since you were only competing with the people of your level and faction it didnt matter |
well i missed the tournament :P |
