Sorry, missed out my point for #19, so if an EB have both range penalty when shooting beyond 6 tiles, and also Melee Penalty, why do I always see an EB dealing more damage even when shooting outside 6 tiles, as compared to melee? When as EB is supposed to have a penalty for both?
Ok, this shold be clear what I'm trying to ask.
for gurumao:
Where, of your 3 examples, should an EB fall under?
Thanks in advance. | #21
You might be referring to the double shot. But 1 shot from an EB more than 6 tiles away is the same dmg as a melee attack. You might of course see differences from individual examples because of the min-max dmg range. | EBs are under Straws' category of classical shooter who do half damage at 6+ tiles and half damage during melee.
they fall in none of the categories i posted earlier.
EBs do more damage at 6+ tiles because they shoot twice and lessdamage in melee as they melee _once_ only. also 2x shots implies 2x cance to get luck, crits etc which allow them to do more damage.
also they have 4-7 damage this might be responsible for the apparent feeling of I always see an EB dealing more damage even when shooting outside 6 tiles, as compared to melee | To #22 & #23:
Yes, I guess u are both right. Maybe it's just a 'feeling' that I have coz of the double shots, chance for luck, critical damage etc.
But u gotta admit a lot of us would rather take a melee attack from an EB rather than them shooting more than 6 tiles away, even if that double shot is taken away. Even if the facts say otherwise, and it's just a 'feeling'.. haha..
Thanks all. :) | But u gotta admit a lot of us would rather take a melee attack from an EB ofc, the very feeling of an elven arrows headed towards you (6 tiles or not) takes away half my morale to fight :p
on the other hand, when they melee, they take a tiny dagger and struggle with their bows and quiver to land a tiny scratch on you, while being scared of the bigger retal you will do to them. (almost brings out the sadist in me) | just another thing
melee damage = x
outside 6 tiles = 2x
inside 6 tiles= 4x
inside 3 tiles=8x lol
but for xbows
melee = 2x
outside 6 = 2x
inside 6 = 8x p | When EB attack enemy within 6 tiles, he will deal 100%, but if 7 tiles or further, he will deal 50% but for bandits, they can deal up to 25-100% of damage |
