for Nanesto:
No, characters can't be blocked by player's own will. And given that you have 4 characters, you may be facing some punishment soon. |
Since it's considered legal, a recurring question keeps on bugging me...
According to rule 3.10:
It is allowed to create additional characters to familiarize yourself with features of other factions. Additional character must be completely independent; remember, that multichars created for financial profiting of the main character in any way are blocked without hesitation. One player may have up to 3 characters (one main and two extras).
By referencing our multis to our main, how is it considered completely independent? By receiving the gold when your multis level up, how is it not considered financial profiting?
I see some contradictions here, but then again, it could just be my singular narrow perspective awaiting for some enlightenment... |
I believe that the "Independent" means as it is explained in the text. Please note that the phrase "Additional characters must be completely independent; remember, that multichars created for financial profiting of the main character in any way are blocked without hesitation." uses a semicolon between the first half od the sentence and the second.
That means that the second half is a further, illustrative, explanation of the former half off the sentence.
This means that the "Independent" here refers to a non-dependency of financial aid from the multis. It is not really possible for a main character to be purely dependent upon the received bonuses of the multis since it's the main character. For the main to be dependent on the bonuses, the multis would need to be leveled to a point of near-equality of the main. That defeats the purpose of creating multis purely for financial aid.
Would you create a new character and raise it from level 1 to Level 10 just so that your current Level 11 had cash (remembering that you cannot do Thieves' Guild ambushes and other things that multis cannot do)? That would take months and would not be any problem for anyone in terms of 'cheating' or 'illegal financial aid' since you would have put an effort more than what it would take for you to earn the same amount of money for your main Level 11 character.
But semantics aside. It has been ruled this way, thus it is. |
To me..."completely independent" means no assistance of any kind. I don't see how having a multi use the reference can be an example of "completely independent". |
for Nuhhd:
How about this: It doesn't matter what the definition of ""completely independent"is for whoever. Treat it as a wrong word used in this case.
It is legal to use your reference link for your multis. That's the ruling. |
From godsends post

Lets check this further, this bit in particular:

Making a new character under your own refrence link to get 30% of its level up gold would fall under this specific part in my opinion |
Ok, it's useless to argue about words used in the rules.
The essence of the rule from the top is that you *CAN* make your multis using your reference link. That's the ruling. Nothing you want to say and argue will change that here.
If you want this changed, tell the admins.
Thread closed to prevent more arguments. |
