AuthorText Quests. Discussion thread.
why i failed?
You need to finish the 15 days with 100% completion of the stronghold, a positive food supply and at least 200 people alive.

Only then are you successful.
ohh..

my food supply is not in positive
what??? I finished the day 15 with 102% percent completion and after architects decision it said "Quest failed". Can someone explain that?
Oh, I see answer above...200 people alive...:-)
Here is what you can get attacked by:
Tier 1: Marauders
Tier 2: Packmasters
Tier 3: Bears
Tier 4: Centaurs
Tier 5: Satyrs
Tier 6: Trolls
Tier 7: Cyclops
Naturally, he greater the tier, the stronger the enemies.

Whenever you fail to destroy the enemy and the siege ends just by their retreating, your Stronghold suffers demolition equal to [Creature Tier]*5%.

couple of questions...

How to leave this quest if I want?

if I close my intetnet and do not open for 1 or 2 days will this quest be gone and failed?

thanks
to Arctic

So in 15 days maximum attack count will be 7?
so average each second day they will attack with increasing strength?
Q: How to leave this quest if I want?
A: Click on the white flag to abort the quest, you start from scratch when you accept the quest again.

Q: if I close my intetnet and do not open for 1 or 2 days will this quest be gone and failed?
A: You continue from where you left.
Too bad there isn't a way to record the result, so that we can compare the final numbers. I ended with 212% construction, almost 300 population, and I can't prove it. The quest log only shows the score. :(

I'm going to try again until I can reach 400 population.

I should note that it took me about 20 tries before I figuring out the trick and now I bet I could beat it every try. Keep at it guys, I won't post any spoilers tho, good luck! :) P.S. Try to beat my results in post 152, that was even after getting rocked by Satyr.
Yeah, once you get it it's easy. Did it again the very next try.
---Seraph Stronghold---
Completion 237%
Population: 521
Provision: 156

@Acila, did you win through higher mathmatic? I could use a little hint which math is used here (and I don't mean balance between Agitators, Peasants and Proviant).
i done it with 70 points, so i get 700 gp.
If i do again and get 100 points will i get the rest of 300 gp?

A: The new score will be recorded on your info page, but you do not get rewarded with extra gold.
I don't think any of this would be considered spoiler info; it's more like elaborations on what the different actions do.

@Acila, did you win through higher mathmatic? I could use a little hint which math is used here (and I don't mean balance between Agitators, Peasants and Proviant). The tip below from Arctic is a very important one. For a while I couldn't figure out why I was losing despite killing "most" of the enemy attackers. Each time you are attacked you gotta decide whether its going to be possible for you to kill them all within 12 rounds. If you cannot kill them all, it's my opinion that you might as well defend and minimize your losses. I've experimented some with the "wait" option but it seems to do nothing... I've even tried waiting 11 rounds in a row and then attacking on the 12th round but still killed the same number as if I'd just attacked on round 1. Unless attacking after waiting merely has a "chance" of doing extra damage, it seems to do nothing at all.

Once you understand that not killing all the attackers is enough to cause damage to your structure according to the below data you realize it's important to have your completed % at least high enough that you can suffer as much damage as the most common creatures can cause, that is if you do not plan to kill them all within 12 rounds.

Tier 1: Marauders
Tier 2: Packmasters
Tier 3: Bears
Tier 4: Centaurs
Tier 5: Satyrs
Tier 6: Trolls
Tier 7: Cyclops
Whenever you fail to destroy the enemy and the siege ends just by their retreating, your Stronghold suffers demolition equal to [Creature Tier]*5%.

Once you understand all the rules it is much easier to devise your strategy for tackling the challenge at hand. Knowledge and understanding is your greatest tool. This is why they hire you instead of purchasing skeletons from the market to do the job.
why i always failed...
