But magic DE weak in hunts, MG quests(except some) , theiving and in PvP especially against wizards bcause there are no mini arts and gargoyls .
DE s have reduction in sorcery and offense talents which is considered as great. But sorcery is useless if you are might and offense useless for magic :( | For Farty_Pants:
Okay, first of all, have a good attitude. There are enemies those you can't probably beat at all (Wiz), but try to fight easier ones if possible.
You haven't taken SP/KNO, Magic-DE would have been better for dual on that lv.
On lv5-6 DE is slightly better if both sides have some AP instead of min-AP.
That's because Lizards ignore defense anyways, so your boosted attack works better.
Some tips:
- Lizards are strong units, you can attack most stacks with it, without taking retalition (with Poisoners it's easy to take reta, though). Don't rush to ogres, SMs, etc, neither go to the range of shooters with lizards.
- Try to move as much as possible with Lizards.
- Minotaurs hack enemies down, okay? Even in low numbers they're powerful.
- Rogues are good, but against elves and wizards they die before they do anything. Against those races it's better take few single rogues and put rest into minotaurs.
- Magic arrow deals 2x your hero damage, even without any SP. For ex. against necro you can hit ghosts with it. 3 Ghosts die and necro won't raise them back yet, because they'd lose more hit points that way.
- Delay is useful if (for ex.) FKs are having exactly the same iniativity with lizards but they get turn 1st. Use it after FK's turn. That way you can deal two moves with lizards before FKs can act.
- For talent selection: There are several good options:
- Basic Luck (Needs some IRL luck, but it affects most to your gameplay).
- Basic Offense (Good for DE, because you don't have shooters)
- Also Leadership and Erudition can be used (It's better to take Luck/Offense instead of taking erudition and putting the point to attack).
- Poisoners are in low numbers, okay? You can try max. minos, lizards, poisoners and take few single reta-taker rogues. Poisoners can kill some elven (even perhaps magi) before they act. | ok...sure, my bad...sry.

and thnx for the advice!! | Hey all, i just want to tell you that DEs can beat almost any faction at any level. you just need good strategy. and for a DE who has beaten a knight in lvl 8, i couldn't find the combats, sorry, but i did it 3 times, and i remember that once in mini arts ... split your shrews 1 1 1 then the rest in one stack
you'll probably get 2 turns before xbows, so go with your shrews forward, and try to protect the big stack with the 1 shrews from griffins. then put your lizards away from griffins, but near shrews to protect them if griffs attack
kill the protection (monks or SM) of the xbows with the big stack of shrews, then block them with 1, and wait with the other 1, in case the other 1 is killed :P after that, you just need 1 hit from the big stack of shrews on xbows, and you win :) i guess.. :P | For 23:

- As you said, the troop layout. In normal battle you can't reach magi with rogues before they can cast once. And when those 7 magi (btw, Wiz hadn't splitted them very effectively..) cast magic punches+ hero deals magic arrow, Rogues are dead.
- Ehh? Wizard rushed with his gargoyles to you. Usually they run away and kill you with magic.
- Where were double mini-arts? In normal cases Wizards have ini-miniarts, so your hero won't cast before them (in battle he casted after, though).
- 1 Spellpower and 2 Knowledge? Rest in attack/Def? He could have 4 knowledge and 1 spellpower or 3 knowledge and 2 spellpower. He had put some stats to attack/def xD

Both have their own adventages. As a Magic-DE you'll need to have more money (you also have use for poisoners those you don't have on the moment). And as a Magic-DE it's harder to do MG-quests/hunts... | for Penguinmaniac:

Ofc, people rarely play perfectly.. But that MG-quest was certainly too hard for lv5 (okay, maybe Wizard would have got some chances, eh?)
If you want to play MGs on that lvl (with DE), play these:
- Conspirators
- Certain Vanguards (Farmers, Merc. Archers, Shrews...)
- Raids with easy creatures

Without Skeleton Bowmen, just do what you see best. The main point is probably to block ghosts so he can't raise them again. Vampires are good to kill with Lizards and Zombies die easily with nearly any troops.
With Skeleton Bowmen, you can kill units those are protecting skeletons by magic. Then hack them down with rogues I guess. Ghosts must be blocked again.

darl elves brigand......did i have a chance? | They are just too much powerful for your lvl.There were 7 dark witches ! My advice is do MG quests on lvl7 with rally. It will be very easy. You can't achieve lvl2 at this lvl to get 1 status point and I don't think you will sell elements now. So better do at lvl 7 . You will need only min AP( for brigands, go with no art ! You will have high chance to win even then) and you can consistantly win and achieve MGlvl2 with 10 reputation . Till then do only hunts and rarely PvP . If you feel bored, play card games at tavern with no bets. You will have plenty of money to buy arts at lvl 7. | There were 7 dark witches !
i think they were 9....4 in the upper stack and 5 in the lower....
