1.) I cannot afford full arts at the moment.
2.) I do not enjoy a victory if I win because one of my team mates cheated.

the Empire doesn't care about lack of ethics. only some players do. and among these players that do care, are some of the best MC leaders. they could create a Council and impose penalties on players who violate AP GB rules. wanna go for it? join the rebellion, mate. our cause is just. |

i asked myself 'why is it just a discrition?'
the creator of a group battle should be able to fix ap a player can use like he or she fixes type of battle (evryone for oneself, 3vs3 and so on...)

It may be unethical, it may be frustrating and many other things, but one thing it's not, is breaking any game rules.
It's widely and often talked-about topic in the forums, and I doubt we'll ever completely eradicate this sort of behavior, much like AFKers.
I have fought almost a full page of combat log of these auto battles, and I can say players who came in not following the battle description is less than 5-10%, which is an acceptable amount, imho.
If we are going to start a topic every time we feel like complaining about something, can I start one like,
"Why the hell didn't my X-Bows get to even survive till its first turn in 35 auto battles I fought?! The AI is so unfair !" :)
Enjoy and be thankful with what we have been given, which is very rare in our server. Honestly speaking, I don't think posting such topics here will change anything. |
| It sucks and it reeks of poor manners but I wouldn't call it cheating. This topic has been discussed since the very beginning but the admins have never put in hard restrictions on artifacts to use for PvP battles. I don't think it's a good idea. I mean, players make a lot of sacrifices (giving up thief invite, delaying faction switch, etc,...) to get top artifacts and it undermines the whole purpose of the economic part of the game to deny players the ability to use their hard earned equipment because some players are having gold problems. Players who are willing to put everything that they have into battles deserve to come out winners. It's as simple as that. |

Who will join a petition - definitely not started by me - to get Shagan a forum ban for a couple of weeks.
reasons:
1. Shagan could put his time to better use (as could many of us)
2. Shagan does long posts which nobody really likes reading anyway
3. It's good for Shagan's health - he clearly gets stressed out which can lead to increased risk of heart attack e.t.c. We wouldn't want Shagan to die now would we community = P
4. nobody likes anybody playing the moral high ground here, on the forums we are all equals
5. He has wound many people up with his recent useless threads including myself
6. there is no 6
now i've kept this polite, I don't want to anger Mister Shagan further

He is just pissed off because he wanted a fight on an equal ground so that each player can show their strategy. A full arts player normally comes in like an ironman. -- u hit him less but he hits u hard
Most players want to win and there are some who are really desperate to pull off the trick of wearing full arts in mini ap battles. Full arts player are not the only one wasting equipment's durability. Most participants join because they feel the need to enjoy a cost-saving mini-ap battle after working hard on enrolling and so on. However, if someone with full arts come in, it is like spoiling the fun. Should the rest know that a full arts player would come in, most likely they would not want to join, rather continue to "spend" their equipments durability on MQ, thieves or hunt.
Just let him vent off some frustration here. |

1.) You seem to misunderstand the meaning of "polite". It contains a minimum measure of respect which you clearly lack. Therefore you are anything but polite. That you can create posts which contain a minimum of eloquence does not make you polite. Hope that helped you clearing up what politeness entails.
2.) All of your arguments are void. I am just as much allowed to express my opinion as any other. Treat me as you want to be treated and you will get treated fairly. Don't, well then don't expect me to respond nicely. I've suffered enough fruitless attempts to try to get people into discussing thing politely on forums. It's a waste of time.
3.) Show me the many people I "wound". I'll show you a list of people who mistreated me in return.
4.) You are mistaken if you think I do this from some sort of morale high ground since quite a few people actually agree with me.
This has nothing to do with moral high ground actually but with basic decency. That you fail to comprehend this does not shine a good light on you.

Usually such people ignore you. Therefore it's even more useless to try to reason with them. As long as they are free to do as they like and having no fear of any form of punishment they will do it regardless if they destroy the fun of others. |
Well, I did try it. I did play a 3D-shooter and startet a 1-1 duell with the description. "I'm a noob, please let me win." Surprisingly not that many people where reading the description.
Therefore: It is quite normal that people will ignore what you did write.
Beside for me it is cheating to have an build that will make you win only when you are facing low ap-enemies. |
