Imho, a fine would suffice for most types of first offense. Crime should be punished, but like in all civilized societies, people should be given a chance to learn from their mistakes. Execution across the board for all crimes is way too harsh a punishment in most cases.
NO one is perfect, and can say he has not erred. If we are all gonna be executed for every wrong we do, there won't be any homo sapiens left in this wonderful world of ours.
