seems to me managing the orbs well is more skill than waiting for ever and let hero kills everything
keep getting arrow orbs when you have no shooter and forced to play another try seems good?
not for me at least |
it's obvious that now it's 95% luck, 5% skill.
exemple:
let's say you are DE level8, trying his best to win the tournament (you spend a lot of time to calculate damage range, to choose placement of your creatures...)and you got 3 arrows orbs.
an other DE level8 playing without any tactical skills got 3 summoning orbs.
you played far better than him, reaching wave 5 without losing a single unit while he already lost 5 minos 2 lizards 3 shrews and 1 hydra by worst playing but...he got 3 additional stacks to help him thanks to the random orbs, while you got nothing.
results:
-you spent 2 hours to try your best and die at wave 10 without any mistakes in your battle (it's just impossible to clear wave 10 without help of orbs)
-your oppent with his poor play, reached wave 12 in 20 minutes without putting too much effort on the battle, and has a higher score than you.
does this seems fair to you? not for me.
of course, if all players had the same orbs, it would remove a big part of the randomness, but according to post 77:
I got 3 orbs during the 2nd try and all of them were orb of illusions..
First some i got different orbs. I got an orb for additional shots. how!?
it looks like orbs are totally random...
and reducing the number of attempts from 7 to 5 increases the randomness (the more attempts you have, the more chances you have to get at least 1 attempt with great orbs to make a score)
survivals are maybe worth to be played because of good for FSP/XP ratio, but winning a tourney is no more an achievement which you can be proud: it only shows that you had more luck than your oppents. |
20k exp and 5.6 skill O_o |
it's obvious that now it's 95% luck, 5% skill.
let's say you play this ST with bad luck, but so what... ST is held every other week, and in the long run, the most skillful player will win more prize, that's for sure.
I like this randomness idea because it gives everyone some chance to win, and will encourage more players to join. It's more like the competition in the real life: you absolutely need more skill to win, and you also need to have good luck. Nothing wrong with that |
Dont join if you dont like it
in my opinion;
- way better fsp ratio
- duration of 1 attempt is way shorter
So that is a big improvement.
I can do 5 tries now and get over 25 fsp (in full AP) dont know for min AP yet |
orbs are not random, i did 3 fights and got always the same orbs. so no luck on this. stop complaining |
DOnt know that, havent joined yet.
But even if orbs were random, then:
you spent 2 hours to try (...)
Is enough information to say that the old ST was rubbish |

ya.. I never spent over 20 mins for first 10 waves even in the old ST =P |
I think in the survival tournament, they are trying to make using ranged units and magic a viable option instead of plain might always winning, especially with all these runes |
I am totally HAPPY with the update.
It's like Gladiators in Rome. They never knew if they were gonna fight the Lion alone, or with 2 more teammates, or with 10 more teammates.
Winning doesnt matter as such if one has fun in playing. =) |
Well, clearly it is the fastest way to earn fsp (without getting much exp) now. Although it costs quite a fair bit even in min AP since there is a 3500g fee to join. |
the 3500 participation fee was always there....
remove it as well and its the best tournament ever xD |
if u all have questions about tournament, please, ask me in PM. |
