well, thats the reason he is 1st.
i know that knight are very good until level 11 and good in level 14 and 15. | any faction can kill your faction (well, since i m knight now, so i just use knight) easily IF you:
1. underestimate your opponents
2. careless and make stupid move
3. dont have luck (what i mean was the external factor NOT the luck talent or luck parameter)
Hmm... I can do all those and still beat a choas wizzy as a might DE :)
In fact when I'm playing carefully with min arts I can beat a full art wizzy :p | Generally Knights are weak v chaos magic, but all factions are balance, depends on how u play .. :)

i'm very surprised, i never lost a single duel against necro since i'm level12, no matter if it's a might one, or a darkness build.
i agree that you have to think a lot more against necro than against chaos wizz (just avoid to group your units and take a huge fireball, and it's an auto-win)
but it's nearly impssible to lose against necro if you play carefully, i can't understand how necro could win 60-70% of times against DE on .ru.
here is the battle scenario if both players plays well:
DE have 3 serious weapons against necro:
1)lizz can crush vampires easily if they try to charge.
2)shrews can deal serious damages to necro's 1st line, and necro have large units (liches and death envoys) that can't be hidden from shrew's attacks.
3)dark witches can deal several damages to skeletal bowmens.
1) means that necro can't charge unless he kills lizz first, so he only have 1 option: play defensive and wait for DE's charge
he might want to kill lizz first with skeletal bowmen, to be able to have an offensive strategy, but then shrews will really be a pain for him.
2) and 3) means that DE is not forced to play offensive, he can just stay back, attack 1st line with shrews, and shoot skeletal bowmens with dark witches.
if skeletal bowmen try to kill DW (to force DE's charge) or lizz (to allow necro's charge), shrews remains intacts and deals enormous damages to necro, so it's suicidal for him to try these strategies.
if necro uses normal strategy (hit shrews), then he needs a lot of time to deal with them (skeletals are not really a fast unit), and since DW shoots on skeletal bowmen, they are aweakened, and unable to finish shrews.
at the end, necro will have 50-100 skells bow with 1-2 shoots left, an aweakened 1st line (something like 4 envoys instead of 6, all liches dead, 22 vamps instead of 27, 5-10 apparitons dead and 2 miss counters on the remaining ones...) while DE will still have 15-20 shrews alive, and all other units intacts.
and finally, DE will stay defensive untill the end, killing slowly but surely the necro with the remaining shrews if nobody moves.
necro don't have choice, he is forced to try to charge, and the intact melee units of DE deals easily with him.
from the beggining to the end, necro had no chance, his only hope was to wait for a mistake from the DE (for exemple a DE playing offensive with an early charge of minos and lizz)
but if DE plays well, it's an auto-win for him, unless the necro has an huge advantage from the start (like ranor with DE level6: 18% damages reduction, it's nearly like if he had a free advanced defense talent), or an incredible luck (several lucky hits with skells bows on shrews + no lucky hits with DW on skells bows +very few morale triggers on shrews and DW+luck with hit/miss counters on appas...) :the perfect scenario that happens 1 time out of 100 battles | necros are weakest, admins should give us more troops! :) | Try playing demon.
They are decent against caravans but for the rest they are not good ^^ | As much as I hate to say it, factions aren't greatly balanced, especially in min AP. Demons are by far the worst, but still my favourite :P | @Sven: Wouldnt say that demons are not good for duels.
For myself i felt quite well in them. Only against Elf and Barbs i would say i hadnt much chance. Necro, Knight and Wizard were surely winable and agains Dark Elf i would say a small advantage for DE. Just my opinion
In MT demons had good results at lvl 11 and 12 and on .ru a lvl 13 demon win 1 place with 20 wins and the same on lvl 14 (demon with 20 wins on nr 1) | i don't know how u guys pick best faction. every faction has its strengths and weakness....

de have high count and hp
demons have gating and speed
elf have archery well supported with luck and critical
necro have skebows, protection from many spells, high def
knight have high count
barbs have high strength
weakness
de have no strong archery
demons have low hp
elf have low dmg output
necro have low speed
knight low speed too
barb have no magic

It interests me how analytical you have been with the three battles you have played against necros since level 12, only one of which was a might build.Perhaps in those battles it seemingly worked perfectly, or perhaps the might build just had an off game. Regardless, i dont think you can call DE vs Necro an auto-winor say it is quote]nearly impssible to lose against necro with such a small sample of battles. How are you so certain that you have concidered every strategy a might necro player could come up with when youve only faced one might build? or a darkness when youve only faced two?
I am not necessarily saying you are wrong, just that words like auto win or impossible to lose would usually come out of a much larger number of battles.. like if you had fought ten might and ten darkness and never lost a one... | From my experience and in 1v1 from levels 10 thru 13

as a necro, i seldomly lose to a de in lv12-13, no matter in cg duel or min ap duel or ambushes(anti-ambushes).
seriously, skeleton bowmans fear dark witches's delay very much, but those nearly 2k hp shooters never fear shooting from weak witches.in fact, i often split them into 2 stacks to avoid delay and clear shrews more efficiently.protect vampires from lizard's charge, and feed those lizards with death envoys.
magic de with ladons is a really pain, though.it is really hard to kill it under the damned delay. | @34:
i feel nearly no chance against wizard in cg duels. genie's dark spells are deadly to necro.
however i dont think barbarians are hard to beat, unless you got knocking shot everytime their orcs shoot... | Will someone give some examples of Necro>DE? | Knights are slow but have high physical defence, if they bring defensive talents, it is hard for might factions to kill them
Necros are not that slow, they have raise, but they just do not have morale .. :) | As a faction 8 level 13 necro, this is my experience for CG and MT (prior knowledge of opponent unknown)
A hybrid vitality and mass delay necro (and arch litch) will:
- lose to tactics luck elf
- lose to expert holy knight
- lose against magic wiz.
All other factions were balanced... (i.e no easy opponent).
Got sick of that, now trying pure might built.
Personally i am a bit disappointed i am 'compelled' to use pure might (I was constantly told hyrid built did not work but i was stuborn and wanted to prove them wrong.. but really holy or chaos > dark).
Been thinking how to make dark magic for a hybrid necro better.
Introduce more ring of doubts: +1 defence at combat level 8, +1 sP at level 12, +1 know at level 14... etc (cumulative effects...) | @37
keep in mind that my battles are not "fair" as I have racial 6 DE, which usually was more than my opponents had as faction resist against nec.
