I still don't see the difference. Elections still need to be held. And events for multiple levels would still need to be organized by the representatives + president. All this sounds awfully like the current system.
No. The difference is:
MCC: In this, some people come up with an idea, and for each idea, a voting process is underwent. Thus each voting process first of all takes time and also, there are lot of chances that it won't be passed.
In this organization: Once the representatives are elected and the president is chosen, there will not be any further voting on any issue what-so-ever for the whole month, unless the president wishes so. The president has the final word, so if he wants to start a tournament spanning multiple levels, he can do so without any objection. And this won't be complete monarchy since the performance of the leader for that month will decide if he/she will be re-elected for the next term.
The difference here is that it is a lot easier in this organization for an event to be made than the MCC, and also like you said, it covers the whole Lordswm rather than only the MC members.
And yes, if the mods feel this section (I&S) is inappropriate for this (as it is something that players can do, which I feel too), please move the thread to the General Game Forum as it is a matter of discussion on General Game Problems. |

I missed out one point. Yes, such events will be organized by all of them together, but there won't be any voting for the same, so if the president wishes to have an event, it will surely be put into force. The other members will only assist him/her but have no final say in whether the event will be held or not. But yes, the president is again accountable to the people through the next elections. |

better to keep game plain and simple, easy to understand and no politics. I play games to relax my mind, not to get to involved in another complicated thing after all day of work. So a no from me. |

I have mixed feelings about this idea.
Potential problems:
1. Voting every month for new members is messy and with such a small number of players who would be interested in being part of this, you would run out of members quickly and end up with the same people anyway.
2. From first hand experience I can tell you that when you are working with a team no event will be organised quickly. Too many voices, too many opinions and the result will be a headache for everyone involved unless the structure is changed.
3. It is very likely that most of the members of such a group will have zero experience of organising an event for the server. It isn't easy to do and the success the MCC has enjoyed from the 2 events it has organised is due to the experience of its members. You think you can do better but I have my doubts.
4. The MCC has official status to hold events, a clan for good communication and very importantly - funds for prizes given to the clan by Empire! You don't and won't get any of that.
5. Interest in player organised events is small among players. The last art competition only had about 3 participants and combat events are hugely difficult to make successful because of lack of interest.
Positive Potential:
1. The server could certainly benefit from an organised group who produce regular events.
2. With backing from the MCC you might be able to tap in to the experience of some of its members to make your idea a success and even get funding. After all, the MCC is doing nothing with the gold given to it at the moment. Please note I said "might" ;) |
for spicydevil: I must very frankly say that your reasoning for disapproval of this idea is pretty lame. In fact , it is not complicated at all. If you dont want to contest the elections you can simply vote which I guess is not complicated at all.

You have full right to call my idea ridiculous and I have full right to call your comment lame, as long as we are not insulting each other. If I feel what you are saying is lame, I'll say it. And you are also free to tag my idea as ridiculous. Keep in mind that while saying so, I have not insulted you in any way.
Anyways, your idea was lame. Just saying that it will complicate things is not a good way to criticize an idea. First of all, this is not at all complicated. Tell me, where is it complicated? Secondly, if you call this complicated and you cannot handle this much of complication, then this game is even more complicated and you must stop playing this game itself. Why complicate yourself?
