AuthorPuzzle solving competition
two people solved #2 Anony-mouse wung it :P
are we supposed to give answers even if its solved?

i thought u wud give another puzzle after solving one O.O
yes of course there is a lot more to puzzle solving than just winning , :P

the more people solve them , the happier i am , and the more difficult puzzle i'll post
While we are waiting for the next one, here's a nice little puzzle (I guess some of you already heard this one):

There are two rooms with no possibility to see between them. The first room has three switches, each of which operate one of three separate light bulbs in the second room. You are allowed in the first room only once and all switches are in off position but there are no markings for which light bulb each operate.

You may then go to the second room, where your task is to find out which swith operates which light bulb.

How do you do it?
solved it ^
for Majblomma:
easy peasy switch one on and leave it for a min or so , switch it back off and switch another on , move to the next room , the bulb that is glowing is operated by the second switch , the one that is hot ( 3:)) is operated by the first switch and the remaining bulb is operated by the third switch :P
I know the answer but the pot is gone so i dont wanna waste tim writing it :(
Here goes a simple one:-

You are locked in a room which has only 4 door ways (No other escape route.)...
You need to escape but unfortunately:-
DOOR 1 leads to a Room where a dragon will kill you... (No way to save yourself from dragon.)
DOOR 2 is made of magnifying glass so the sun will kill you... (Yyou cant save yourself from the rays of the sun
DOOR 3 will lead you to space, and you cant carry oxygen masks and nor can you find oxygen. You will die. (NO, You cant arrange oxygen in anyway.)'
DOOR 4 leads to hell... No way you can escape that. (PS: DONT TRY TO BE PERCY JACKSON LOL)

Now you have to give me a way to remain alive... To escape the room and remain alive. Please read carefully. Also I will give 500 gold to the first one to inbox me an answer.
for K5isback:
as i said there is a lot more to puzzle solving than just winning
Go to Room one
Tame the dragon (dragons can be friendly)
Command dragon to break room
Fly on his back and escape :P
for Anony-mouse:
this aint harry potter #7 sir :P
xD
And also, note that door 2 is not made of magnifying glass...

The room which comes when you go through door 2 has a roof made of magnifying glass... so you will be baked alive
Kabutoyakushi wins it at 14:26.
Just 10 mins before he answered, igles made a very good attempt but he went just a bit wrong...

Kabuto, your prize will reach you in a few mins
I will give 500 gold to the first one to inbox me an answer.
i can give you an answer, but havent found the correct one yet :P
lol @ sven thats kinda funny
thanks for the prize k5 :)
looking forward to more of these puzzles
good way to get back into the game with a little boost of gold :p
Puzzle #3 folks

Aryavarta lies a lot, he tells the truth on only one of the days of the week

1. one day he said : "I lie on mondays and tuesdays"

2. the next day he says "today is either thursday saturday or sunday"

3. the day after that he says "I lie on wednesdays and fridays"

Q: On what day of the week does Aryavarta tell the truth ?

BTW i dont lie just had to take a name took my additional char's :P

solve it up
@24 you could put a mirror behind those lights, that way you just need to look behind when you pull the switches. That way would be easier, faster and don't need to walk back.

Or even easier, you could ask some one to look which will light.

By the way, why they didn't didn't mark which light is which... So careless...
on tuesday.

Since the three sentences are consecutive, and they never cross (different days) only one may say the truth, the others are lies. Also, the days where he cannot say he is lieing a day where he is, since that would make his lie true (paradox). therefore:
On monday, tuesday, wednesday and friday he cannot say he is telling lies. And on thu, sat and sun he can't say what day it is unless he speaks truth.

Also the three sentences are consecutives. So the first day, will have to be a day when he can lie (not mon/tue), the third day must not be wed or fri.
by this reasoning, first day can't be monday or tuesday.

If it was wednesday, then third day would fall on friday - paradox.

if it was on thu, it would be a true statement, day two (fri) would be a false one but then day three (sat) would ether be also a true statement, or else indicate that on wednesday he is tellig the truth, meaning that there are 2 days where he is telling the truth - against the rules.

If it was on fri, both first and second statement would be true or first would indicate that there are 2 days when he speaks truth - same scenario as above.

If it was on sat, all sentences would be true - against the rules.

so by exclusion first day must be sunday. Then if second day is monday, second statement is false. If first statement was true then third ought to be false, but since it falls on a day where he is supposed to lie, that would mean that there are 2 days when he is telling the truth (sunday and either wed or fri). Therefore first statement must be false. If first statement is false, and second is false, then third can be true. Since it falls on a day where he has been lieing when telling he would lie, then it's a truth, and he does indeed lie on wednesday and friday.

So on tuesday he is telling the truth.
Saturday.

Day 1 = "X" Where he's telling the truth.
Next day, can't be Thursday, because previous day when he spoke the truth can't be Wednesdays, otherwise he'll be saying the truth on Friday, and that way Wednesdays answer would be a lie. Same way it next day he couldn't say the true because it would be Friday.

Next day is Sunday, cause previous day is Saturday and he spoke the truth, and day after that is Monday, where he already said he's lying on this day.

So Saturday, is when he spoke the truth.
Sunday is the day after that.
And Monday's he does lie.

(Such lier.)
for guyb:
