for Fallen Atheros:
Lol. I feel you. :P |
for Lord Syrian:
I once defeated a Might Wizard. What an occasion! TV news covered the story throughout the day, my friends and family flew in from all over the globe, we all got together, and we cried and hugged. What a feeling! One day I'll have that on my tombstone: "This guy once defeated a Might Wizzie. Awesome!"
Amen |
Corey pretty much summed it up when he said that you lost 2 battles and you are extremely upset about the difficulty. Where's the fun in winning 100% braindead battles against mediocre AI bots ?
Losing is never fun and hence the reactions.
Difficulty changed a lot the past year. While it was possible to win 100 in a row the first months (I had a 67 win streak) it became harder and harder, even for those wearing well equiped enchanted items.
The past month, I noticed AI are getting stronger AND smarter (attacking Guards with big stacks, ignoring paladins).
All you can do to minimize the losses is to seek a preset team, talk about different tactics and then hope you win as many as possible.
PS: The more enchants you'll wear, the faster the enemies get stronger. Not a good idea if you're the only one in your team wearing 3 blings. Its better to all 3 have 1 or 2 then 1 with 3 and 2 with none blings. |
Very interesting Arcanide. I didn't know that an unbalanced 'Bling' team would make the enemy stronger. I usually go with only one Enchant, but sometimes at least one of my teammates wears two. I almost never see three Enchants on one player. Thanks for the tip. :) |
I don't think the facility defenses should be played with 3 enchanted arts. Since we get gold for the defenses, it should be so that we get around 70% of the cost of all defenses covered by the gold gained. This used to be like this before, you have 80% or 90% wins and even with the losses you had to pay 30% of the arts yourself. Not bad for a good ratio.
But now it seems like you need to invest a lot more gold. I could fight in my best set, but the repair cost would kill me after a while. And I have LG10. What would this mean for lower LG level people?
So, or the dynamic balancing system should be adapted (so you can have 3 or 4 losses in a row, but if they are only a few percentages, it would be easy again), or the difficulty in general should just get lower.
I understand and even agree with the system that clans with more territories get harder defenses, but if even having one sector (4 facilities) makes your defenses extra hard, it's a bit over the top. |
Your points are valid but your claims are based on your very specific clan's policy regarding artefact prices and defense rewards. Other clans (big *and* small) have different systems in place that give you an entirely different perspective. Try them out.
Stats compiled over my last 120 defs :
- perfect financial balance
- 2 5*10 arts at least in each battle
- 2/3 win ratio "only"
- real pleasure when I manage to set up good lineups, no matter the outcome |
for Derelict:
So you are saying that your clan offers you bigger rewards and better prices on enchanted artifacts rent, so you can fight with 2 enchants and still have a perfect financial balance? |

ofc he is as his words means but what irony is, sometimes out come is not so pleasurable even is you win :P example : https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=2294998 |
I'm not advertising for clans here. Just trying to show that some other cases exist, and that the initial arguments I read here were totally flawed.
The road to 20k fights is a long one, patience is a virtue, and you only learn through defeats. |
Lose without chance: boring and frustrating (no gold, no armaments)
Win too easily: boring but rewarding
Lose hard-fought defense: exciting but also frustrating

My experience is that facility battles are rather balanced most of the times. It seems to happen from time to time though, that the opponent is insanely difficult to use your words. When I was at CL 12 I suddenly faced a DE mage with 95 liz ass, 207 mino soldiers and 43 hydras (https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?lt=-1&warid=604404928). Lots of meat there... |
Even i feel the difficulty has gone up too much now.
Defence battles are proving to be very expensive now and if it continues i'll have to stop playing defence battles. |
cost and difficulty may be high, but its worth doing this battles.
fsp and armaments are cool. |
lol, you have never played in a MC controlling 16 or 12 facilities
just try it and you'll see your mobs are kindergarden children
decision: equip more enchanted artifacts-- quote from Lessena --
yes I would love to have a high enough paying job to be able to afford to donate enough hundreds of more dollars than I already have, to buy enough enchanted arts to be able to win one or 2 facility defense battles. If you only want the super rich to play your game you should change your name to Lords of War and Super Rich. |
for The Unwise1:
Its not that expensive, not if you have a good LG level for your CL and enroll atleast 5-6 times a day. |
facilities battle now not a full AP match, you required minimum one enchant to two or three depends on no of facility's. enchant which i mean is minimum 5x10%. now i was not eagerly join all defend or no going for a click war, but if i join i make sure my team won't lose because of me |
I almost never see three Enchants on one player. and were in the same clan :D i allways take 3 enchants, didnt realise that it makes it more difficult for others in my team tho :D |

This is quite symptomatic of this game; most fights are either way too hard or way too easy. Difficulty against the AI is also often quite arbitrary especially in events/facility defense, with the AI starting with ridiculous amount of range or shrews-like units that kill any good but low HP stack in 1st turn which forces fights in a very formulaic strategy. |
