I got two casters, for one I put archers close to the peasants and regretted it.
For next one I just put shooters on the frontlines since my peasants were at the back and the mages just cast meteors. ( I assume because I also put my other troops far away at that point)

That is just something I noticed, I myself don't know how to prevent that other than hoping that if you rush they won't lightning :D

Thanks bro, I did the same but instead of meteor, they decided to cast chain lighting...twice. Killed over 100 peasants and 2 huts :(
I've waited so long to set up a new tower and this stupid farmer stands right at the ideal spot for the tower. And I had to put the tower next to him. :-(
How many towers could you have in the past events? Anybody remember?

Not sure about others, but i had a max of 3 fully buffed towers. My win rate at the time was 65/72
If the archer tower is placed on the 6th row using the tactics talent, it will still stay on the 6th row even without the talent.

Good to know. Could possibly save some on no ranged penalty upgrade if you can control and play around the centre. As a barb player, i always bait a few troops using my rocs to get the better hit off so might be doable
the rewards are pretty darn good.
10 days ABC at 30 wins and epic creature stack at 60 wins.
They don't accept brethrens as bait.
they dont even want shrews, runs or rather flies directly for farmers :/
There's this note at the end of the announcement:
Local guards report noticed changes in the tactics of the robbers: now they try to inflict the greatest damage to the defenders at the beginning of the battle, ignoring the peasants and their settlements during the first three moves.

So I just rush and try to kill/block shooters and any speedy troops before then.

It doesn't matter where you put the troops, wild grif seems to allways diclve the huts and farmers. Sadly nothing you can do but lose something there. Similar to any mage

strugled a lot...hard to win..lost 4...then my stupidity realized that i forgot to buy a potion of skill....after that it was much smoother :)

That doesn't helps. I see that wild griffins changes priority from battle to battle
