I got my mana sucked outta me many times during battle by Imps/Spawns etc. I never had more than max during/after recovery... (??) | for Jedi-Knight:

it would probably work for both mana recovery and spirit link, but the real error is because mana sucked by imps/spawns will be restored after the battle ended
and mana recovery is supposed to be "recovery", so you can't recover if your mana pool is full
So it works like this:
You joined the battle against imps/spawns with 45/45 mana
imps/spawns sucked 25 mana from you, so become 20/45 at begining of battle
then your mana recovery and spirit link talent bring it back to 45/45 at end of battle
finally, after battle, 70% sucked mana (18) return after the battle, so make your mana 63/45.

I think so far it seems this way:
You joined the battle against imps/spawns with 45/45 mana
Imps/spawns suck 25 mana from you, so become 20/45 after Imps/Spawn's turn
Mana recovery and spirit link talent bring it back to 45/45 by end of battle
After battle, all sucked mana is returned (25), this makes your mana 70/45.
Then the game restores 75% of lost mana, but at this point no mana is lost, so it stays 70/45

starting 45/45
first wave, 2x10 stolen -> 25/45
+3 -> 28/45
2nd wave, 3x8 stolen, another 4 -> 0/45
+4 -> 4/45
3rd wave, 4 stolen -> 0/45
+4 -> 4/45
last wave, 4 stolen -> 0/45
+8 -> 8/45
after it ended i got 63/45, 56 mana stolen, gained 19 from mana recovery during battle, 8+55=63, so only 55 got restored
i think i didnt miss anything | it is the effect of mana recovery(spirite lin might also work for this case) incressing your mana after it had been stolen and after the battel all the stolen mana are restored+the mana gained from mana recovery(mabey spirite link also) and then.WALA you have more mana than your max allows you
this could be a very good idea for wizards:
a level 14 wizard can use basic sorcary+mana recovery and advance erudaction+intelecnt
and hero can have 9 knowlg like this 3 from talents 2 from scroll of enrgy 2 from staff of gical power and 1 from hat of knowlge,and so he have 135 mana,and let say the spawns stole 70 of `em,and with onley running away he restored about 50 and after the battel he would have won 50 more mana(if he dosn`t uses any mana during the hunt onley wait) and so he would have won about 5 more points to distibue
if this works for necro then he can be a poisn necro with onley 3 knowlge,50 gained

in total: 56
end of battle: 8/45
after battle: 56+8=64
close enough to 63/45.
