AuthorHunting Season
I have done all on DE, with normally just a switch of talents between tactics or cold blade being sufficient, though occasionally switched to a defensive build, or flipped to a dagger rather than a shield etc.

With Classic DE, for most situations it is about ensuring your shrews stay alive, others can be sacrificed to ensure you keep them alive. It also requires some patience, better to back off shrews and let something else die once they only have melee threats, as the board clears they can out manouvre most enemies, since higher speed and initaitive creatures are the primary targets.

A defensive set up as no retal enemies with high speed and ini

Blocking or killing ranged as priority

Kill shooters, then faster troops, leave slow till the end

this event gave me the much needed boost to hit fsl 11, hopefully with the additional stats my journey for the rest of the event will be smoother
for Lord MilesTeg:
Any advice for the event? I am trying to go for mino build with points in spell power and going for mass decay/slow build. But they’re killing me too fast before decay takes them out…

Feels like dark elf is a weak faction… had to switch to barb to win
for cyberclops:

I use TDE more than DE. Raiding harpies are always the top choice for summon creatures unless there are a lot of those poisonous and reflective snake trainers. Dark witches are great for slow enemies and confusion shooters. They can also be the counterstrike absorber besides the dragons. In some desperate fights, they are the only ones besides the harpies that hold on to the last with properly-timed disappearance.

An example fight with TDE:

for bp99:
foir me on 20 every tde enemy i see is rediculous. regular de fights are much easier or i find an easy win on something else like dwarf or charmer or shooter fury. this event is insanely easy with all castles as you can cycle through and find the easy win fights.

perfect score after 50 wins and not 1 fight has been challenging. now that i have said this im gonna lose on day 6 :)
for kchong:

I have gone classic DE in every match so far with mostly full shrews and arts for most stats (ie not full attack at cost of all defence, though attack stat prioritised).

In all except about 2 or 3 when looking at the formation I could see a way to either completely take out shooters, or block them for a turn or two, or else reduce them sufficiently to be able to accept the reduction in the shrews stack.

Depending upon this assessment I woudl either go full all in attack to keep shrews alive, or if I did not have to commit fully would allow them to come forward. It is then a cat and mouse game to ensure that once this advantage is gained, the melee cannot get in range of your shrews, hence prioritising high speed high ini single tile characters, or those that could remove your blockers.

Assess enemies based around fast stacks and shooters. You can mostly ignore low speed and low ini enemies in your assessment, as if you do the first bit right, you just mop them up at the end.
Not sure if this works., ut worth a try

So for example with this one
https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?warid=3007309240413&show_enemy=N_AICbg1

There are multiple magic dealers and ranged, all requiring removing before attacking in order to maintain my primary win condition of having a healthy stack of shews.

This would mean tactics and probably splitting shrews to hit the back line for both the far right and far left strike. The liklihood is that one of them would hit morale and or luck to take out the stack, though would still leave 2 shooters/magic dealers.

Dragon breath could reduce another, though no route to taking them all out. While it is probably enough to still win it, and ladons coming in clutch I was sufficiently not sure to check out another faction in case it is an easy match up.

In that regard IO saw this one
https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?warid=3007324790413&show_enemy=NhV9T3bA

Which with only one sizeable shooter stack, and with elf and favoured enemy and luck, should mean (not tried yet) that a shooter elf build with phantoms etc should work wel enough and a more certain route to win than with DE
And true enough, and easy one

As slayer says, it is useful to have multiple castles. And if you are a cheapskate like me, ones that you don't need to buy a skill potion to use effectively

Okay boomer
well this event is doable sure but im certain i wont be able to squeeze into top 1k this time
I am finding myself enjoing this version of event more than the old one
What's that new event image
this event is insanely easy with all castles as you can cycle through and find the easy win fights.

Not everyone can afford to do that, myself included :(

I like TDE more than DE since I somehow feel computer enemies often (mistakenly) discount the power of summoned creatures like harpies. In the battles I fought so far, I used TDE more than half of times. DE takes 1/3 to 1/2. For a few of them, I had to use charmer, FB, or B.

Lost 3 battles so far. One was a stupid strategy mistake, the other two are simply the laziness of not switching factions caught me.

i forgot i was facing dwarf... them speed runes will really surprise you XD

luckily still won and ended 60/60 on event with perfect score. this was only tough fight for me.

Lost 2 on day 2 to stupidity, no way 2 loss score is in top 200
Glad all done, I don't enjoy the stressful feeling of trying to keep an unbeaten run, but nice event overall. Not too grindy.

Mostly did in DE, with a switch to classic or charmer elf a handful of times.

how come everything is favored to my enemy?
for jayjay1231:
Looks like a bug to me, that is unlucky
i used elf for the whole event, everything was favored enemy too, sad that it works the other way around too xD
for Ridrich:
That should be the case when against neutrals, though wouldn't normally be the case against those lead by a hero. Can you confirm this was the case against that situation too?

I just checked the combat briefing and could see no reference to elf favoured enemy mechanic
