picking the right factions is most important. i went 70/70 with demon dwarf and tribal
demon and dwarf have possibly the lowest enemy meat coefficent and tribal is just OP if the enemies arent massive shooters or giga venom. |

Nice event, certainly very rewarding in terms of both stats and gold and I would expect accessible to all at whatever level was felt appropriate.
A little disappointed in my final score, rushed some things as thought I wouldn't have time to finish and did not attempt them in the highest difficulty to begin with, so would have gained 5 more points just by initially being braver and doing the hard battle rather than missing it for speed which in the end wasn't needed. Still better safe than sorry. |

| It’s really strict: you only get the clan reward with a score of 650 points or more. I’m within the first 4500 players in Total with a score of 537. Most of the time, that’s enough for the clan reward. |

I think in society we have moved beyond the notion that someone's sexuality relates to an insult.
I respect what you do for the community and for game play, but there is no need for that sort of post. I know that this game is based in a country whose views and indeed laws in regard to that matter are very different to my own country, but as an international community I think it important that we work on acceptance and tolerance, and not moving down divisive modes of interaction.
You are allowed your own opinion and views on certain sensitive areas, but that right does not extend to acting upon them, at least that is my opinion. |

I think you're giving that comment considerably more weight than it was meant to carry. It was a cheap insult to a person who is all in for such nonsense, not a statement about homosexuality or an indication of how I view people who are gay.
I have no issue with you pointing out that you don't like that kind of language/remark/joke, but going from one silly remark to a broader discussion about tolerance and acceptance feels a little excessive in my opinion. Not every poorly chosen joke necessarily has a deeper meaning behind it, like this one. |
I accept your point, and am sure you meant nothing by it. However, just because you intended nothing by it, does not change whether it should, or should not be a nature of exchange that is tolerated.
From that viewpoint I was left in a position of do I ignore it in which case I am tacitly accepting it as OK and so my passivity is perpetuating this being a part of normalised interaction. Or do I comment to highlight I think that we need to elevate our views to not accept jokes, cheap insults or banter based upon sexuality, in the same way we recognise that if it is about ethnicity or gender it is not OK.
It is no different to when I realised that as a child I used language in exactly the same way without a second thought. I didn't mean anything by it, and thought that this meant it was OK to say. However, by perpetuating the implicit message that to be gay is a bad thing, we negatively impact those that identify as such, whether we believe it to be the case or not. As such in my mind then this is not OK, irrespective of no negative intention.
You are correct that this thread is not the place for a wider discussion, and did not intend for it to be as such. I am just the sort of person where if I think someone has said something which I do not think should have been said, I (hopefully politely) explain why. This is I hope consistent with a number of times I have posted, I make my point and then shut up, and shall do the same here. |
