| I suppose you are having a DSL/ADSL connection. the ISP uses the medium only not the telephone communication service. the frequency used by DSL and ADSL lines is different from telephone and our ear detection frequency. the devices used for DSL/ADSL is separate and works separately from telephone devices. |

yeah...i got a DSL connection...
but back in the days....working of my net was directly proportional to the landline... |

| The communication office can separate a person completely from the network or the lines may have problems. in both these cases your internet will not work. but now a days the communication office just switches off the phone line so you can use your connection. or so that the ISP can have his income. |
