At all times elves fought with goblins that attacked their territories; but soon more severe danger occurred. Savage and warlike orcs appeared in the Northern Lands. Their attack was so rush that they had already seized the northern territories and laid a siege of the last elves bulwark - Turma fortress (in Kwenya “Shield”) when elves heard it in Teil. The elves called an assembly and decided to send elves guard detachment to help the defenders, while the main forces got ready and could be thrown for the relief. The detachment was skillfully trained, and its commander was a wise and experienced warrior. They marched off. This campaign was called “Jerk to the North”. When elves approached it had been already too late. The smoking ruins of the town were inhabited only with ravens and bands of orcs death-hunters. Despite disastrous situation they decided to consolidate on the fortress and
restore it before the main forces arrived. But fortune ordered otherwise, that night the orcs had located elves detachment among the ruins and attacked it. The fight, lighted with the moon and burning houses, was very cruel and only few elves survived. The attack was turned but the victory was dearly bought! Those who survived sent a messenger for help, but he was killed on the way. Elves were surrounded and there was no help (their reinforcement had been trapped and wiped out two days before). There was no way further to the north through the snow-covered mountains; the way back was blocked by the orcs. So the elves decided to fight to the last breath. And they won the battle. The town was rebuilt, and those who survived realized that they had no way back. That is how the Clan “The Northern Elves” was established. It still fights with the evil. And we have to win the battle. |
