Authorwizard magic
at the moment the wizard magic upgrades are chaos and nature - I guess most know the game and those are inimical to wizards who are order based

one reason I chose wizards was the mind magic - esp illusion - but that does not seem to exist here

about time to include a revision of the schools of magic? there is a reason there are so few wizards playing

Nature and Chaos Magic shools: Summon phantom, Ice ring, Fireball.

Create Illusion and Summon Phantom were basically the same spell in Heroes - and they were stackable - so you could keep summoning phantoms and you got more and more of them or add more illusionary creatures (limited to copying what was on the battlefield)to fight for you. It made up for the extreme slowness and vulnerability of order armies
obviously someone did not understand the balance and tried to 'improve' on it :(

Ice is an order thing as it is rigid - but fire is chaos - change and mutability and opposed to order

Nature magic is an elven thing summoning wild creatures to fight and therefore closer to chaos - chaos is a demon thing etc ...

I understand the wish to include Dark Elves - but it just shows that the people who decided to do that are not that close to Heroes - clearly there are other fantasy games that they want to play.

In HMM5 there wasn't spell "Create Illusion".. and Dark Elvs is norml fraction there..

you don't know why there's so few wizard playing?
because wizard creature are too weak especially magi
in level 4 it is impossible to win any game

ok - it is true - having played almost all the M&M releases for the past 10-15yrs? I fell down and missed out on M&M5 :( so please illucidate - what changed?

There were chaos creatures before that were fine - and there were demon creatures but how did that affect the magical preferences of Magi?

Mages spanned the gap between unchanging Perfect Good = Life/Angels and perfect unchanging Death/Undead - the Elven Nature Magic and Chaos / Demon Magics were their enemies because they incorporated wild elements.

The set-up here makes little sense to me.

homm 5 abolished thr order magic rype and mostly put it in the natere one (whitch lost all summon spells, only summon elementals and phantom survived)

ouch - I guess some new guy arrived at M&M who decided that he knew better - I've never seen their forums, bu tI would have quite a bit to say to them. There are peole who are just not suited to creative positions :(
raggid: the company that made the old HOMM and M&M games went bankrupt. Ubisoft bought the rights to the franchise, scrapped the old universe and created a new universe starting with HOMM5.

yup erathia is no more. its Ashan now.
