AuthorCompensation for AFK-er's teammate
What will u do if your teammate AFK? Your team will lose, and wait the game finish is so boring. But we get nothing.
AFk-ers must pay something to their teammates. Golds or experience are better than bad luck for 2 hours.
So, AFK-ers will lose some gold and experience and pay for their teammates.
What do u think?
Hah! I just said this very thing in a game where I got left high and dry by an AFK'er. I was more interested in an exp compensation, however gold will work too.

-2 luck doesn't mean anything, hit them where it hurts and they might reconsider their actions.
Sometimes people can AFK due reasons beyond their control, such as an issue with internet connection. Too severe a punishment would be unfair to people who just get struck with a bit of bad luck, but I do agree that the -2 luck for 2 hours isn't enough. Taking gold or experience from them doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I think the -2 luck should stick as a punishment for the AFKer, but there should be a compensation to the teammates, but not one at the AFKer's expense. For example, in a 3 vs 3 match, one person goes AFK and surrenders fight. As a result, he would get -2 luck for 2 hours and his two teammates would get the experience they would normally get from the loss times say 4 or 5, that way it is still less than the winning sides reward, but not a total waste.

On another note, this belongs in the suggestions and ideas forum not the general game forum.

What is AFK?

i like your idea. but then people would create accounts and PURPOSElY (sp?) go afk. so their real account can get easy exp whether they win or lose.

i hate to say it but. there is no way to deal with afk without taking harsh measures on the internet connections or real life problems that people have.
Players who are fed up with AFK should all join the Warriors' Guild (clan #145). See the description of the clan for more info.
6 Cao_ren:

If people were to gain by purposefully afk, then they would have to use dummy account. This is against the rule. Actually, if people were to gain from dummy accounts, there are much more efficient ways of doing this. My only concern is that people may afk intentionally to lose exp. So, my suggestion is that people who go afk not only lose exp, but also skill points.
3 DreadRaven:

I think more often, people go afk because they casually joined when it's not the best time for them to commit 20 minutes in a battle. So they got cought up in something else just head off. If people would lose dearly if they afk, they we think twice before commiting to a battle.

I will not complain if I was penalized because power falure or network problem, because these don't happen that often. If for some people these happens very often, I think they better find some solution for their own problem before repeatedly getting other people into problem.

thats unfair to those people. you are basicly telling them to phone up their power suppliers and tell them to sort these ACCIDENTEL ... yes ACCIDENTAL power cuts out so they can play a GAME?

you think power suppliers cut wires on purpose?
you think they WANT us to lose data on a computer?
etc.

dyzhxsl
they dont know that its going to happen. how can they sort it out?

you need to get a grip and understand the situation the people who suffer from internet problems or power cuts are in before you start making comments about them.
10 Cao_ren:

Nothing's unfair. It's like if you want to play, first get the equipments, and qualified ones. You don't join a battle with crappy power surply, internet connection, or computer, because that waste other people time.

I'm also curious how many afks are really caused by power, internet, or computer problem? Majority of the 3v3 battles I joined have afk. I don't think a lot of these are because of technical problems. The general trand is that the longer the waiting time of a battle, the more likely there are afks. I have reason to believe that these people just forgot about the battle the commited to.
Well it's unfair for me to be stuck in a team where my teammate runs off. If someone's inconsiderate, then they deserve the hit they get and it might cause them to think of their actions. If you don't have enough time to sit for an entire game, DON'T START IT.

Funny how common sense isn't so common nowadays?
There is far more easy way-Just create "auto combat tool"-computer play with you units. It will activate if you lose 3 turns and deactivate if you click something again. And if somebody have to go afk,he may just click this button and hopes that computer loudn't make any mistakes. What did you think about my suggestion?
Sorry for my mistakes
i was in a battle 2 vs 2, the one in my team was afk, he told me later that his sorry he was bored and he went to sleep ( normaly I lost the battle because it was a 1 vs 2 situation, and the 2 players I played against got 1000 xp each )
yeah i hate afk players too, however life won't choose the moments when you are available to deal with problems... this week i was afk because of a personal problem occurred so sudden. it was a hunting game, thankfully the other player could deal with it....

so what i would do to afk people:
1. one afk -2 luck is good and acceptable, because anyone can have a bad day or something can go wrong

2. if a player goes afk over and over the punishment should be more strict...
what i mean is 1 afk is -2 luck for 2 hours, 2afk in 24 hours there should be a -2 luck for 5 hours or something, then it should be a greater punishment, such as take away xp, skill point, gold... and of course if a player goes afk every day in a week there should be a ban for a day or 2...

3. compensation: yeah there should be something. xp, skill, gold (repairing arts), and for necros:) lost skellies:) should be added to teammates of the afk.

i know its hard to find a right solution, but something should be done.

btw auto-combat good idea, should automatically turn on after 3 waits and button is good, but some mark should be on the player who uses it:)
if you afk and its not for a good reason than your a noob
What I really hate is when a player tells you he is leaving.

I think we should all get a button when a player dies from being afk to vote on a severe punishment, if all agree (on their own team also) then they should get a big penalty xps, gold and luck.

I have lost my internet connection a couple of times, and I don't have faulty equipment or anything similar, shit just happens (ask bill gates why windows suddenly goes to the blue screen).

So I think the punishment should go to the on purpose AFKer and his peers should get to vote about the penalty.
whats the point in -2 luck for to hours?

they can just go and play another game. watch tv. go out for 2 hours.

what SHOULD be done is a much more effective penalty.

-2 luck for X amount of battles. (5 seems about right)

becouse this way. there is no way of avoiding the luck situation. so this way. they know they cant get away with it.

opinions on my method? i like feedback
I think you should just make the afker LOSE gold and XP as well as skill points and give it to the ones he left afk.. like if you go afk you lose 500 gold 500 xp and share them in equal parts to the losing team.
if you happen to go afk and be on the side that wins (it happened) simply have them gain 0 xp and 0 gold as well as 0 money and kill off all his army and drain all his mana so he gotta wait til he can play again. that's it.
Cao_ren , I think your suggestion is the best . That way , everyone is happy and the afker will have to pay for his crime , with no way to evade it . That means , even if he only goes on hunts , he'll have to wait 5 hours just to remove his penalty .

However , for an unfortunate AFKers who were powerless in a bad situation , it would be harsh , but it works nevertheless . Just their luck , as it was for me .
