Magic shield ability of golems

AuthorMagic shield ability of golems
Hello.
I only have experience with the magicshield-ability of the golems, not with the one given by talents, unique racial abilities or artifacts, so i'll just refer to this one.
It doesn't seem to work at all, at least it doesn't give a 50% protection. For example i just fought a bunch of golems while hunting and my magic punch dealt 60 damage to the golems which is exactly the same amount it deals to all enemys while hunting for me. (I haven't figured out why the damage is increased for hunting in contrary to normal battles though).
One could argument that my wizardskill on level 3 gives a damage surplus, but definetly not enough for a 50% resistance.

Now, my question is the following: Is this a bug or is magic punch not considered a magic attack?
Thanks for constructive answers in advance,

Elgoran.
Magic punch is not considered magic damage i think, atleast ghosts can be "missed" with punch, but you cant miss them with magic such as magic arrow.
punch do a phys damage and ignore magic def
about ghosts?i newer hit them them with punch//always miss?think not random(
I already hit them with the punch. In the description of the ghosts' special ability it says that elemental attacks never miss them, but magic attacks do just reset the counter.
The Magic Shield property for Golem is different from the talent "magic shield"

as my experience, the 50% magic shield makes the golem only suffer from 50% damage from elemental spells, such as lighting, etc, instead of "spell relfection"
ok it seems i didn't read the post carefully.. just ignore my previous post
you wizards do 120% damage in hunts.

60 is because thats half the damage.the magic sheild blocked half.your real damage should be 120.
Magic punch Mana cost 5 (Level 1)
Creates a fist that punches target enemy stack, dealing physical damage. This spell ignores magic resistances, such as Magic shield, Magic proof or Immunity to magic.

Sometimes it helps to read the description. ;)

So, a simple answer to your question Elgoran: Indeed it is not counted as a magical attack.
