AuthorA strategy against necromancers?
When a necro reaches lvl 5, he can then acquire skeleton archers and a lot of them. This, along with the ressurection ability, make necromancers a pwerful opponent.

Does anyone have any good suggestion about strategies against them?
use lightning on ghosts (it won't miss) and use bowmen on skellies. keep your distance away with keepers. skellies might be big in numbers, but are still a bit weak. once they run out of shots (ur bowmen are probably dead, and ressurect doesn't bring back shots) just fight and hope to win!

these are only suggestions and might not be true cuz im a barbarian
Depends on what the Necro does. If he stays at range, its better to Lightning his Skellis.

If he comes to you, you should win anyway
If you wan't my opinion, stay away from dueling necromancers. in a group battle your team should weaken the skele bows while focusing on the others when bows are low on numbers. once you get some melee down there (this is where a dark elf is a huge help) it becomes a lot easier because vamps and ghosts will eb charging you, usually leaving a wall of zombies behind. take down a zombie and get to the bows and presto, large worry solved. and in the beggining, don't use lightning on the ghosts, use it on the range that the other team has. ghosts are easy to kill if you use the 2 hit, 2 miss rule. and vamps just need a large amount of firepower on them. and always block the large amounts of units that you kill (i.e. 14 ghosts, 7 vamps, the skeles.)

I'm an elf; contrary to what others have suggested, I leave the skele bows for the last.

At the beginning of the battle, I stoneskin my archers. I weaken the ghosts (with lightning) and vamps. At this point, the necro usually attacks with his ghosts and vamps, but they're already weakened. I stoneskin my fks, and they finish off the vamps. The necro now keeps on resurrecting his troops... and I have fun killing them and gaining xp. My fks kill the skele bows.

Notes:
a) Remember the 2-miss rule with ghosts.
b) Vamps are easy to kill with fks, if and only if you weaken them FIRST with ranged attacks. Otherwise, vamps will suck too much blood.
c) Skele bows do very little damage... especially if you stoneskin your important troops.
I totally agree with snajooha!!! :D

Target the melee units & blast with magic to weaken them,leaving the skelle bowmen to the last.

For Barbs and Knights who have hardly any magic, i guess its advisable to do the same. Attach the vamps & ghosts (2 hit, 2 miss rule) and leave the skelles to the last. :P
any hints for A DE
to 5: yeah go ahead with stoneskin on your bowmen, i will just kill your druids anyway. They are a much greater danger to my ghost and with their stoneskin on fks. :P

Your strategy of killing druids might work...

The problem with your strategy, though, is that if you leave my bowmen alive, they will seriously harm your melee troops when they come closer to attack me. Bowmen deal double damage at close range, remember? (But if you choose not to attack with your melee troops, THEN I will attack your skele bows.)
But then again, I've never met a necro who kills druids instead of bowmen, so I'm just speculating. :)
