Dear game designers,
1) the suggestion:
Allow the players to download an image pack, which contains at least the jpeg-images used by the game. Then have each player decide for his account when he logs in, which images are used. For example under "character", "personal settings" have an option to take images instead from "http://www.heroeswm.com/?" from their hard drive ("C:\heroeswm").
2) benefits
I see two main benefits from this. First the server load will be reduced, because images are loaded from hard disk and not through the internet. Along with this goes a faster load time for the players of course. Second it would be even possible for players to create their own image packs and use them instead like a modification of the game.
