I'd say Save gold coins and start a national bank. With the american crisis, now is the time to take advantage and start monopolising the market.
As I eventually controll all the money, I force you to slave away for me at bottomprices, giving me the same weapon you offered before the crisis, except now for nothing more than 2 buttons, a loaf of bread and a pat on the back.
