i have just watched a 2 Vs 2 where none of the players were AFK.

the game had been going for half an hour, and was still at a relatively early phase. not many turns were missed.

at any level past about 3, group games become a painful tedium in many instances.

i dont know if this has been suggested before, but how about a game where turn time is 10 seconds. i know there is such a thing as lag, but 10 seconds really should be enough for most people. and yeah, u would need to plan your strategy ahead of each move, cus 10 seconds isnt a huge time to work out what u wish to do next. there are some negatives, i concede, but the positives are also there... sometimes i want a 30 second per turn strategy fest, sometimes i wanna know i can have a group game without writing off 1 hour of my life.

a final thought. many people will enter a 30 second game with the best of intentions, but if every1 literally takes their 30 seconds, it can be easily 5+ minutes between ur moves. many people will go and do something else, or even simply open another web page and look at something random. when it comes to their turn, they thus arent focussed, will take a while to do anything (more waiting for every1), and when they do make a move, it isnt very informed, cus they have been doing something else for the last 5 mins and have very little concept of what stage the battle is at.

worse than this, i enter a 2 on 2 thinking 1 hour will be enough. i have to go out in 1 hour. 1 hour passes, and the game is still going. no choice but to AFK. this has never happened to me, and i hope it doesnt, but it happens to many. to have a much more predictable game length would stop this problem in most instances.

on top of all this, it is the easiest suggestion EVER to actually implement, i am sure.

That would be nice, a game called "Speed Style" or something, maybe a new room for it, duels and group battle, maybe a Speed Tounament. Players with lags just wouldn't go to those rooms, and players who want more time won't either. It should be in a different room so nobody misses the 10 second timer by accident and joins without noticing 10 second timer.
