Authormethod to avoid afk
a lot of people get angry when an ally go afk...
I think: maybe the ally wouldn't go afk, maybe he has lag or he must leave the game because of duty or other personal reasons.
So, why don't put in the game a button or something else to push when you must leave the game? I think it could be usefull,
the solution is: you push the button, then an ally gain the control of your units and your hero, so you can leave the game, do what you have to do and let the allies fight with your troops without handicap.
That's what I think. (of course, while your troops are fighting with your allies you shouldn't do anything else in the game, like doing other fights and hunting...)

I hope the admins will do something like this to eliminate afk problems...
sure i just like to say people are coming up with all thesse great ideas but these ideas need to be programed in admin r already busy enough with entering new things in the game so they need new programmer for that they need money and of course they need people to spend money for the game to do this that is the point of diamonds. that is the price of free game if you want these things to come faster we will either have to buy a lot more diamonds or pay like 5 bucks a month to use the game slow upgrades is the price of free gaming

But I do agree that it unfair that you should be punish due to your allies not being around. It bite when a 3v3 turn into 1v3 where you are the one.

To 2:

There other way of generating money, such as advertisement and merchandise. With a better game more player will join and stay playing and help increase both of these. Their are several free games website out there that manage to do improvement without making the players pay for it.

that took nearly an hour because supertongs would only play about every 3rd or 4th move. If he had gone afk sooner rather than 40 minutes in, that might have been a different story, but as it was this was basically griefing. I am aware this is not against the rules, but perhaps there should be an allotted total time permitted for a player (say 15 minutes) per battle so that this sort of griefing doesn't occur?
The best way to stop AFK:ers imo would be to give them an exp loss of whatever they army is worth when they afk dies. They should also lose 0.5points of every faction they got points in, that way no1 would join a fight 2min b4 they have to go. And also the people who afk alot would never reach above lvl 3 so no AFK games on higher lvls.

I think using this tactic would give the game a better touch after lvl 3. I hate it when I join 3 vs 3 battles and end up trying to solo 3 ppl. (normaly after 15min of wait for AFK:ers) And its at those lvls you get the diamond boost for youre castle and so on. I know this is a non profit game, but all games needs some donations. I was palnning of donate some to boost my char with diamonds but for what would I donate? The way I feel is that I would donate to play a game that got 19/20 battles fair, rest is won by the team with least afk:ers. I dont really like winning 3vs2 either even if its free exp. I dont really wanna donate for a game that makes me wait 15min for a sure death either.

Worst of all is when you jump into a asisstance for a hunt. You equip all youre arts b4 you run to the rescue and once battle starts you have to wait for 4min b4 somone afk starts the game, then wait for another 2min for every creatures turn and finaly when they afk dies you stand ther alone vs an army bigger than anything you seen. So the thanks you got for helping was 10minutes of waiting, 1durability loss of artifacts and then another 15min wait to restore army.

Apart from the AFK problem I really like this game, keep up the good work!
@syperdestroyer: The idea with the button and letting other players play for you wouldn't work as it could be abused. However, maybe the game could allow for the computer to take over control of an afk player. That way your own team has a better chance of winning and opposing team still gets their xp if they win. Of course the afk player should still be punished and the -2 luck thing just isn't enough. The idea from spellranger (5) with the loss of xp is good in my opinion. Some might argue that players going afk due to bad internet connection shouldn't have the same severe punishment as intentional afk'ers. But as I imagine that this would be hard to distinguish it's probably better to punish all afk'ers equally. Also, players with bad internet connection should try to respect that other players' games get ruined by them.

On this note, one of the new implementations giving more xp for losers in a multiplayer game might ensure that fewer players go afk intentionally now.
An example is this game I just had where noone was afk and two of us losers almost got as much xp and SK as the lvl 9 barb on the winning team.
