To save traveling time, warp portals can be constructed at every city to allow players to instant reach a chosen city of his or her choice.
To prevent abuse of this device, a cost and limitations of use per day can be implemented. What I have in mind is 240 gold/min of normal traveling time, up to 6 times of teleportaion within 24hrs.
The construction of such portals can be used a future event; akin to the pier and dragon quest event.

I think the idea is splendid ! Doubt it will be implemented though ...

Look at the cost ; 240 gold . Don't you think that people would rather be robbed for ~50-80 gold as well as get free skill points without compulsory art-wearing ? Only desperate or impatient people would use it .
I think the warp portal is useful if you want to get somewhere fast , say to buy certain arts or resources . It can also be used to get free mercenary quest points ; as your deliveries will never be intercepted by brigands LOL :) . In this case it would be useful , although the reward is usually significantly less than 240 gold , it is better than losing hundreds of gold's worth of artifact durability . This will make players think whether they would prefer less hassle conducting the mission but negative income or just fight their way through the brigands . |

Warp portals wouldn't be allowed for deliveries, of course.
It would be a lot less annoying than worrying about luck -2 if I start to move to a new location then turn off the computer. |
