Withdraw army from ambush.

I have idea to put option withdraw army from ambush (only against comp. attacks). Cos there is so many complains about impossible ambushes, it would be nice idea.
You can withdraw from battle only when Hero has a turn. if you withdraw then exp. are calculated the same as you lost combat, but you do not need to recover troops from 0% but only thoes you lost in battle til withdraw.
I think if thief see impossible caravan to raid than it is just a sense to call troops back.
arts durability decreases by 1 like in normal battle.
I have yet to see a so-called "impossible" caravan. Wear full arts and you will be fine.

Also this is just another suggestion to make the game easier for people who don't care to try.
Actually this is the reason why lot of ppl leave the game, usually when you lvl up till decent lvl game starts to become more easy with more excitement, here is lvl up and you will find new challenge ALL the time.
I agree in game should be a challenge but not all the time. sometime i just want to play easy, sometime hard.. but here I cannot choose it... :( :( it is so sad...
Ah, but when you do level up all the difficult things become more easy. Even when the change is little, like from level 8 to 9. Mercenary Missions get easier as you level, even though they get stronger each time you beat them. Caravans are probably the only battles that do not become easier... but they are meant to be challenging all the time. What you are asking them to do is remove the challenge in Caravans; then they would just be like other Merc Missions.

The ambush was also pretty easy for me back to lvl 7&8 as a knight, I won more than 90% of ambush to reach TG4. At lvl 9, I didn't do much ambush. But at lvl 10, it really "impossible" for me. For the past about 20 ambush with full arts, I won only 2, it's about 10% success for poor me. :(

But I don't think withdraw is a perfect idea, as you will get less exp and skill than you finish it, but your arts are still wasted.
The idea is not bad, because it's logical, that as a thieve I would'nt ambush a caravan, if I see it's far stronger than me.

@ipsine: Caravans at level 9 are simply unbalanced. Either caravans at lower levels have to be harder or lvl 9 have to be easier. Getting TG2 at level 8 was a piece of cake to me, even as a barbarian, which is surely not the strongest class for ambushes. Now at lvl 9 it's not reasonable anymore. I like challenges, but losing 50 battles to get doable caravans is just crazy and stupid. Well, let's see how you think when you have reached like TG3. I'm not surprised, that elf and dark elf players don't complain about impossible caravans more seldom than other characters, shrews and EFK are a good advantage. No, I'm not whining about playing a barb, it's fun to me.
this idea is a bit pointless
so you do only half a battle, get less exp, get less fsp, and only "pro" is that you "only" have to wait 10 minutes til you have full troops, instead of 15 minutes.......
If you do retreat from ambush, you should get nothing for it, of course. Only advantage would be that you don't have to refresh troops and mana and can go on with other battles. I would like it. I don't need 300 xp for waiting 15 minutes.
I can see why anyone would like this idea but it would turn into "Caravan Dodging." If you were to withdraw from a Caravan I would implement a 3 hour wait until the next possible ambush. Otherwise people would just dodge Caravans that they think are too difficult (but not impossible) until they get an easy one.

Yeah, EFK are nice... but remember all elf units have very low defense; even with arts. They will die quickly if a good attack is not made.

I can see this being very true, and without experience as a Barb I can't really say much. Though as far as I would imagine, Wolf Raiders can easily take down the strongest unit, and Orc Chiefs, if properly blocked, could last quite a while. Elves don't have a strong main attacker other than Unicorns. Efk and Sprites rely on arterial damage to weaken all the units, and Elf bows get killed far too quickly to be good use in AI Caravans.

Come to think of it, my EFK rarely survive their first two turns; nor do my Sprites. More often than not my Unicorns are left to do the dirty work while my Bows and Dru take the brunt of the damage.
