I found it very annoying when during an ambush a player didn't fight at all, but waited for the counter to get 'till 2 or 1 and then press wait... So he didn't go AFK...

How about extending the AFK effect even when a player hits 5 consecutive times the wait button?
wut if a player splits skeles or just waits to get first hit XD ... idea fails!!
What if player wants to wait with his 3 packs of shrews for the right time? It does occur, you have to wait 2 times with shrews when you want to get something slow into your range...not telling that I often wait few times with lizard cavalery just to have a perfect range. There could be other examples I think.
If you're ambushing a player, the burden of courtesy does not fall upon them. :) 2 & 3 are right, there are often occasions where 5 consecutive waits will happen. For instance, I play an elf right now, and I split my druids into 5 stacks. Say a griffin comes up after their mana is gone, and the griffin is in melee with all of them - commonly I will wait for the griffin to be killed, rather than suicide my druids on it.
