Author | Survival tournament 2 much harder than 1 |
Did anyone else notice that this second survival tournament was much more difficult that the first one. I was waiting for the results to be posted before I made any judgments, but now that they have the scores are much much lower for every level that I have looked at.
After the first survival tournament many people complained about the small prize money awarded and that it wasn't worth the artifacts they used. I felt that the real prize was the large amount of experience you were able to get rather than a gold payout.
But this tournament it seemed to me that wearing full arts you got less experience than if you played a 3v3 pvp game in full arts.
I would like to hear what others think about this. |
I know it's true for lv 7. |
First congratulations to you~~ I saw you won the first place on Nec faction.
I think it's probably OK. For 7 attempts, it takes about 10K gold for full arts and you earn 12K exp for each, it's good for me though
However, I think the most important thing is that it's a chanlenging, I felt excited in considering how to get more waves done ;) |
if it was harder it was for everyone
from my POV I could say it was easier |
I only entered level 3 with my alt it was MUCH easier. |
@1: it's difficult to get 22k xp with a group level, even on 11th lvl and it would definitly more time for each battle. i reached max xp in each tournament battle, so i would speak of a very good ratio xp/time/costs. |
First of all - you don't fight for money but for fame :P and exp.
Second, I don't think I can get 22k exp in a 3vs3 combat, not to mention that I won't win all 7 combats so the amount of exp is very good.
Third - this is something new, I approve any kind of new combat style(you can't say this is like a merc quest), I'm bored with all p vs p, merc quests, caravans, hunts.
If there is something that needs to be changed then is the r-tarded caravan system(that's the real place where you WASTE your arts), not the tournaments.
I would like more tournaments :), I don't care about the prizes, I want new types of combat :). |
Wt I noticed is that the player with most artefacts, could win that easily.
Some players like me, just have a little help due to them. A possible idea for next tourney to get real skills, put something like maximum 4 or 5 AP 'cause the richest players will win buying rings and that stuff, so is annoying.
Just my opinion, dunno wt u think about this... |
No-one found the tourney easy as all died one time or another ^^ however those who developed their character in the time between should have noticed an increase in their effectiveness =)
Also please don't turn this thread into a "oh btw, ban all player privileges as I want to be #1 but don't wish to earn gold or donate to the game" |
i entered lvl 4 and 5.lvl 5 was harder to score than 4 |
personally, i agree was harder. i had a full set of high arts on level 7 knights and still placed 31st. first tourney i was in top ten. the real killer was all the new critters. |
for DonSure:
if richer players were saving money you should also do the same btw the arts are not that costly that only rich players could get it if that much problem is there then why haven't you rented the arts from anyone?you call it annoying?I call competing in tournament with min AP and then whinning I aren't the winner is annoying. |

Thanks, I was utterly shocked when I saw I was first place for level 9 necromancers. But none the less this survival tournament was much more difficult than the first one.
As far as those who have better artifacts doing better, well frankly, what do you expect? The same can be said for every other aspect of this game. Wear better artifacts be more successful or have a better chance to be successful. But that's not my point, whether you wore full arts or minimum arts this tournament had lower experience and lower scores than the first one. Which to me means it was more difficult.
I am not saying there was anything unfair about it. It was more difficult for everyone. But I remember many people complaining after the first survival tournament about the lack of prizes to the winners, no diamonds and small amounts of gold. But I didn't care because I thought that the true prize was the large experience to be gained. And this second survival tournament offered much less experience than the first.
Some info to back up what I am saying.
Tournament 2 lvl 9 necro score 31769 exp 14232 (1st place)
Tournament 1 lvl 9 necro score 38236 exp 17130 (11th place)
lvl 8 necro score 33768 exp 15128 (3rd place)
Those are my best scores each tournament. I scored higher and got more experience in first tournament and I didn't even have diamond upgrade for ghosts then like I do now for this second tournament.
As far as being able to gain more exp in a 3v3 battle than in this 2nd tournament I based that on my alts, a demon and elf both level 7.
Dashiva_Shar level 7 demon score 9815 1.14 skill points exp 4397 (16th place)
in 3v3 battle 7901 exp and 4.3 skill points
Leoulf level 7 elf score 7859 1.06 skill points exp 3521 (39th place)
in 3v3 battle 6417 exp 3.39 skill points
Granted I only used 1 attempt for Leoulf and I think 3 or 4 for Dashiva_Shar so I am sure that I could have done better. But with more experience and much more skill points 3v3 pvp seems a better choice. Of course you can lose in pvp also and gain much less.
But I did not create this thread to complain about the tournament. I created it see if others also felt this tournament was much more difficult than the last one. The main thing I found was there seemed to be a wave that was a wall and just impossible to get past. This grouped all the scores very close together. There seemed to be an increase in difficulty in each wave until WHAM the wave that stops everyone. I would rather have had a steady increase in difficulty. |
Something I just looked at was the prize money, and after comparing the first and second tournament I can say that the second one has a MUCH larger prize. This could be why it was more difficult and offered less experience.
For level 9 necro
Tournament 1 Prize:
Main: 189,200
Incentive: 156,800
Tournament 2 Prize:
Main: 309,760
Incentive: 439,040
And even though the second tournament had 40 lvl 9 necros compared to 27 in the first the increased prize amount isn't due to that.
Take a look at any level and compare the prize money for each tournament and you can see that this second tournament has much more prize money.
One example is for lvl 5 necro
Tournament 1 Competitors total: 166
Prize:
Main: 206,300
Incentive: 425,200
Tournament 2 Competitors total: 148
Prize:
Main: 340,880
Incentive: 763,520
As you can see even with less participants the prize is larger. Now I can't remember what the entrance fee was for each tournament but I don't recall a difference from the first tournament to the second.
I think this difference in prizes awarded goes to show that the admin in this game listen more than we might think they do. They might not always respond or make their presence known, and at times it may appear that they have forgotten us, but more often than not I think they address what needs to be and the decisions they make are good for the game. If anything I think they don't have enough people to take care of everything that needs to be, thus some of the less urgent matters go unattended. Such as dealing with cheaters and transfers involving players with multicharacters, but that's a matter for a different thread.
Again I'm not sure if the cost to participate in the second tournament was more than the first, but even if it was I don't think this can explain the large jump in prize money. So recognition should be given to the admin for listening to players after the first survival tournament and making adjustments to the second one.
Great job admin I along with many others appreciate every special event you give us. Thanks for all you do for us and this game, much of which goes unnoticed. Remember when we are complaining about the game or you, the admin, it is because we care about this game and want to make it the best it can be. |
It didn't get any harder, people did get lower score and xp, but i actually think its easer to get in top 10% then first suvival tournament, so its other way around |
people did get lower score and xp
i think that's what he meant. waves are harder than last time. |
but for me its quite easy then tourney 1 cuz i was not in the top few in first tourney but i an rank 49 in level 8 elf in this tourney |
Actually, the story that announced this tourney did state that
they would gather their forces in greater numbers for another attack.
They meaning whoever is behind these attacks (this "Mastermind" character).
So it makes perfect sense to have this tournament be more difficult than the one before it. If there is ever a 3rd survival tournament, it will probably be even harder than this one. |
@blazingarpit:
Obviously i didnt have that AP 'cause i dont have all the money that possibly other players could had. So, my point is if the tourney is about show some skills to survive longer than others, all player have to be in same position, i mean all with the same AP, and not let them buy and buy 'cause off course they'll survive more time than "poor" players like me.
And I'm not posting this 'cause i didn't get any prize, dont take that way. For me was a very good tournament 'cause i reach lvl 5 in just 7 battles, so I'm not acomplishing 'cause I lost. Is just my opinion man, I wanna see that players with full arts fighting this survival tournament with the minimum AP to check if really they play so good [refering to lvl 4 at least]
Im not trying to fight without sense, just writing an opinion about this tournament, 'cause that's why this post created, right?
Mmm, And the first tournament I didn't participate so I can't say anything about it |
