hello everyone
i thought about thiefing and i get ambushed without ap because i dont want to lose dura for this but without i havent any chance to win :(
so i think there should be a 3% resistence per thief lvl against thiefs (like race resistence)
but only if the one who ambush has more ap than the one in the middle!!!
about logical its right too
because if im a better thief as more i know how a thief is fighting against me

If you're going to apply that logic, then if it's like racial resistance, you'd have resistance to the thief, but the thief would also have resistance to you, and you can choose if you want to use arts or not while travelling, the thief chose to do the fight in full arts, you chose to not bring any, I don't see why you should be given an extra advantage, especially when entry to the thief guild requires an ˆ80 donation or a thief guild invite |
As a matter of fact, it is not possible for a thief to do ambushes in full art for a long time, its a waste of money against caravans. You are the one who chooses to fight a thief by traveling, that gives you the advantage, he can get either caravan or a player.
You will understand that on higher levels. |
Either way, you get an advantage on initiative so you should be able to beat lower level thiefs because you have the first move. |
I don't choose to fight a thief by traveling -- I need to go somewhere, so I travel. The thief sets the ambush -- not the one being ambushed. If I had the option to evade an ambush I would take it as an ambush is nothing more than an annoyance and delay to me getting to my destination. |
but i cant beat lower level thief because of +/-10% starting initiative
and im thief lvl4 they are hard and i need much money now too
but i can pay it with laborer guild lvl4 |

I disagree, I've been wearing full arts starting from ~tg 3 to now. It's possible, but is a money drainer. |

well, evade is not possible, but try travelling with 1 gremlin and without arts, u will finish in less than 2 min without (even) any waste. |

It's not like thieves have a choice. As a thief I would rather ambush a caravan over someone with 1 stack. |
I don't think this is a good idea. I'm renting a TGI right now... Caravans are getting tougher and tougher... It is a pleasure for me when I get a player against me. (If (s)he doesn't have diamond upgrades.) When you lose a battle as a thief, you have to wait 1 hour to ambush again, that is a quite long time, especially when your time is limited to 2 weeks. When you're ambushed while travelling, your health regeneration does not stop. You get fine experience, and racial skill points, without needing 100% health to fight. So being ambushed is a present! :) Don't mind that 40 gold, that you lose, the points you get in return are worth it. If you don't want to lose durability, then un-equip all, before you travel. I always do that, and even so, sometimes i beat thieves. (especially while I was magic De.)
All in all, Thieves' life are already hard. Don't make it harder. |
600 thief points with 20% loses with full arts is 720 battles x 1500 per fight without enchants = 1,080,000 gold for those 600 points. If I fight in medium or minimum arts, I get more skill points with less gold. Thats the math.
I would understand if you were and elf with no way to protect his archers. But really. If you want to win ambush, level 8-9 DE takes 350 gold per fight for medium arts tp wear and win 90% fights as victim.
By chosing your thief to fight I mean: Each time you travel, you know you can go against a thief in pvp for a great amount of experience a skill points. Each time a thief sets an ambush, he doesnt know what he should wear, because there is a great chance to waste his arts on a strong caravan. |
