Suggestions for Recruiters

AuthorSuggestions for Recruiters
Hello all clan recruiters(and clan leaders),

I appreciate the offers to join your clan and I know you are trying to do a good deed for your respective clans and maybe earn some clan points.
Let me suggest you actually investigate the person you are recruiting before you spam them. For instance, I have stated that I am happy to be in my clan and am not interested in any invites. You send me invites anyway so I know you are just spamming whoever is online at the time. Not a big reason to want to join you.
Also to clan leaders; if you want high level players, send a high level recruiter to them. Here is what I got yesterday:
"Hello
I would like to invite you to the clan,___________. I am a recruiter of the clan and i see potential in you..."
So I clicked on the sender and he was a 4th level player. You see potential in me? Should I be flattered? Doesn't it sound silly for a low level player to write such a thing to a high level player?
Also a certain clan is on a recruiting mission gone wild. I and most of my clan mates have gotten many many invites and keep rejecting them( now ignoring them). Maybe get a little more organized so you don't keep spamming the same players over and over again?
I would also suggest for young clans that want high level players to offer them at least free entry or even pay them something. You need a clan smith so go to that clan(smiths and enchanters) and grab one so at least you can offer that service to your members.
You want good players to join? Send good players to recruit.Stop having your 3rd and 4th level members spamming eveJust some helpful advice.
Cheers,
Modi

All that says is that they are using a canned invite. Do you want to read my invite? I can assure you that mine was sent by a 4th level player.
it does not matter the Recruiter just the clan

Uh, yes it does to some people.

Now if you have nothing more to add to the topic, please stay off it.
Yeah its really bad. I stated clearly that i join for the small fee of 100k Gold but then after the recruitingmails nobody want to pay me.
i see potential in you.
somehow a lot see potential in me too!
It doesn't matter the level, as long as they are strong in the force :P
matt__777:

being a recruiter of a clan is not something very special now-a-days everyone is becoming a recruiter or herald.
what can herald do?
for Xerfer:
writing clan mail
+1
i think its quite ridiculous for a 4th level player to see potential in such a high level player...c'mon...the guy dosent know anything yet!!
for rrrk888:
the potential message to me was sent by a lvl 9 player
Same thing here. But mine was level 5 :D
For all recruiters : pay attention to all players u have sent the invitations .. if the players said, no, then do not send him / her invitation anymore .. I ever got the same invitations on my RandhyDBest 5 times in a row ... :) so annoying .. :(
so what their is no rule against it

for modi: that's why theirs a mail filter

this was just his suggestion for recruiters (as the title says). It is to help them get more players.
It's not about the quantity of invitations but the quality ;)

Hammer, # 16 has me on his black list so he is just here to disagree no matter what :P

I disagree. If you owned an advertising business and you were trying to hook a huge client would you send your best seller to him or an entry level nooby?
I think you know the answer.

The point of my post is for recruiters to place some more thought into what they are doing if they want better players to join.
I was recruited by the leader of LOS and because of what he wrote, I knew he actually looked at my profile before sending it. That prompted me to look at his clan and after seeing what they offered, I joined.
hockey: no, there is no written rule against this kind of behaviour.

Yet courtesy does exist, and it makes the word a better place to live in.

I myself was repeatedly invited from (probably the same as modi) a clan, and repeatedly explained them that i didn't want to join.

Again and again, different people sent me invites, and none of them would care to check if i had already been invited.

Some days, i even got 3 different invites from 3 different peoples of the same clan.

The reason behind this? When a person get some new player to join, they get some points, prelude to some sort of prize.

Only thing is, sooner or later words spread, clan shows they are no serious nor respectful and people desert them and run away as far as possible.

Filters have their limit, you don't want to put 200+ clan members in the "no mail" filter, just because they can potentially write to you.

Also because i am pretty sure most of these "recruiters" don't even read this forum, i guess this thread would be a good idea, to let know the clan owners that it is time to do something about this wild hoarding for new players, and to re-organize their clans in order for them to be more efficent and less disturbing - wich will certainly make externals more willing to enroll.
for telca:
Thank you for the thoughtful post. Some of us do not want to be involved in a clan that invites everyone who is online. Jr. level recruiters should be told to recruit Jr. level players. That's just my opinion. I don't want to filter out new players because sometimes they just ask you a simple question about the game and I dont mind answering if I know the answer.
It is unfriendly if all the high level players filtered out the low ones. That won't help to grow the game.
