| bad luck for u jedi the admin should..nono but must announce it b4 it happen..few days ago when i was hunting white colour threat and then server update...?yeah i lost it ..not only no gold gained but my art dura lost 1 easily lol |
| One thing to remember, the downtime might not have been scheduled, it could have been unintentional, remember when we switched servers they stopped us being able to even initiate combats and card games several hours before the game was scheduled to go down, just because the game went down doesnt mean it was meant to |

Yeah well, what got me rather mad was after the server discarded my dragon eye and other tower card, I NEVEr drew another tower card, and my opponent slowly built his tower (the games went on for about 15-20 minutes after the server came back on) and overtook me and won (!). At the end, I had like 70 mana or something but can't use it.
Imagine u are me in that game, playing for 20 minutes after the server came back on, drawing card after card, and no tower, while watching your opponent play tower after tower card... and ended up beating you 50 vs 49 (yes, 49!) tower, when I could have won it easily if not for the server breakdown.
Gold is 1 thing, it's knowing u have wasted almost 30 minutes INVOLUNTARILY giving someone 3000 gold that really hurts! haha.. |
| Yes this is what happened to me too. I had just started a combat and there was a page after I pressed refresh because I couldn't place my troops and it said "Technical Maintenance" and below it showed the server time. At least I didn't go afk because I won my combat now that I logged in. |
i was going to say the same thing about a notice but only just got back on, i would not have been at all happy if i was doing somthing at the time.
But definitavly agree some notice would be nice |

| well it was the same for everyone, it wasn't only you who was affected by the down time, so playing on it as an excuse is pretty low, so it affected you adversely, what's to say it didnt also discard one of the cards your opponent was holding onto? it was just luck of the draw that he was drawing better cards than you after the servers came back up, and as I said earlier, the downtime might not have even been intended, so how can they give notice of it if they don't know it's going to happen? |

| You missed the whole point, if the server wasn't meant to go down, then they CANNOT KNOW it's going down, so if they CANNOT KNOW it's going down then they therefore CANNOT POST it's going down |

mate, I have played more than 3000 Tt games, and almost at GG15, trust me, I KNOW when the game is won.
As for your example, there's no way in heaven or earth he could ahve won that game, even if he had 6 tower cards or whatever.
- He didn't have enough Stacks (need 18) to deal me -12 tower damage,
- He don't even have enough Stacks (need 12) to play the 'Take Mana and Ores away from me' card.
- He don't have enough mana (only drawing 1 per turn a nd his tower was at around 15. So even if he had 6 x Dragon Eyes, it still would not stop me from winning.
- Even if he had +2 monastery cards, it would take him way more than 2 turns to complete 50 towers.
I would have won, full stop. No 2 ways about it. :) |
it was just luck of the draw
server went down for everyone, it could have happened the other way round, you could have been losing and then won because of it, it just so happens that it happened on the game you were about to win, it's not like it *ONLY* went down for you, it was down for everyone, it's just bad luck and nothing can be done about it |

I know it happened to everyone, and there is a POSSIBILITY that it's not due to the admins' actions and all, but you are the one would might not be getting the point.
IF it was indeed due to the admins' actions, then I'm merely suggesting that they post in the forums to inform us. Just like u are suggesting we don't jump to conclusion that it's due to the admins, it's also wise that it could indeed be due to the admins, no?
And If it was, then I'm just suggesting they inform us in advance, that's all.

Lol, how many do you think visit the forums every hour to check for such notices! If it's indeed an emergency technical shut-down i doubt they can give more than an hours warning~
And don't tell me you haven't experienced this irl... Public transport, electricity etc, they don't really give out warnings all the times before going down always do they now?
Such accidents are a part and parcel of any business project. |

Grrr.... why can't we take this thread (under Ideas & suggestions, mind you) at face value - That IF an admin is about to do some works on the server, to gave us some advance notice. That's all.
Of course, it's it's unforeseen and unpredicted, and nothing to do with our dear admins, then obviously no noticed is required, right? :p |
