Yet another option I miss from the HOMM series, this would help in both easy, long combats (let's say, for example, a monster battle for a necro against something easy like a bowman, or the end of a combat where you don't care how many more troops you lose because you're going offline anyway etc), but also in PvP, where the AI could replace the AFK-ing players once they pass 5 turns and would normally be killed. They would still receive the luck penalty and get 0 exp and fsp, but their units would still help in the hunt/duel/GB, so it would be a smaller loss for the player(s) left in the battle.
I believe this would also be relatively easy to implement, since the AI is already scripted for neutrals and no changes need to be made to that behaviour.
I believe this has been suggested before. I also believe that the argument was that it would encourage afkers.
If it's been suggested before, then I appologise. My bad for not searching the forum long enough (I think I stopped reading at about page 4 or so and I don't recall seeing anything about this).
Frankly, I don't see how it would encourage players to go AFK. The penalty would be just the same as it is now for them, so they wouldn't exactly gain anything. The ones who stand to gain something from this are the ones who team up with those that do go AFK, thus giving them a greater chance of winning. If you could, please elaborate how Auto Combat (and having it as an option for your troops to activate when you desire) would encourage AFK'ing, because I would very much like to hear your arguments.
It's better to punish Afk-ers with an automatic payment to team members if they lose 5 turns.
#4: My suggestion is not about punishing AFK'ers, it's about a new option for the players. The AI replacing AFK'ers is only a marginal contribution (which can be skipped, if the devs don't see it's potential use). Please stay on topic, thank you.

I don't think that they could win easily. The AI is, as we know, not too tactical. I think AI could not win alone a simple green hunt, when it needs some tactics.

My idea is for Auto Combat to be an option (a new button, like the Wait or Defend ones) for players, so when you see you're gonna surely win a fight, you can just press that button and alt+tab to continue working / playing smth else. You would choose when to activate it (and de-activate it, ofc).

For #7: Yes, maybe we are busy sometimes and/or something comes up during a 2-player hunt or Group Battle. Would you rather kill all your troops or default to Auto Combat in order to not completely screw your partener(s) in that fight? Same logic goes for disconnecting / power outages etc. The players would still receive the luck loss and 0 exp & fsp(which isn't the end of the world), but their teammates wouldn't necessarily be at such a disadvantage.

Come to think of it, this is a good idea: having it enabled only in single-player combats (1-player hunts, MG quests etc.), so that it wouldn't in any way encourage players to go AFK in PvP.

The afking problem is really pissing off.... There shall be much bigger punishment for that....

The auto combat option is good suggestion, there shall be something like if someone not moving for 4 turns autocombat system shall be actived...

I would like to hear a good reason why you don't want this implemented. I, for one, have given multiple reasons why it should be: monster quests that become "click the same spot over and over again for 5 minutes", gray hunts that you just wanna watch and see how the AI moves with your faction's troops and so on.
I gave the "AI replacing AFK'ers in PvP" option because it would be an easy fix once the admins make it happen that you can have "Auto Combat" in PvE. And, like I said, the AI won't be as good, but it would help the one who's really being hurt by the AFK'ing and that's not the player to does it, it's his teammates. And, don't forget what I proposed about players to go AFK. The penalty would be just the same as it is now for them, so they wouldn't exactly gain anything

Till now I have lost all my grey hunts. I don't need a computer to lose. I can do this all by myself :)
Another solution for this... in gorup hunts/combats, after 3-5 turns when it's clear that there's afk player, remaining players take over afk troops? what do you think?

This is exactly the 2nd part of my suggestion. Once a player times out 5 times, the AI (a bot) will take control of his units and the player will get 0 exp and fsp and the AFK penalty he already gets. Basically, no change for the ones who AFK, the only change is for the fights.
The main part is having an option to relinquish control of your units in PvE (or PvM or whatever you wanna call it) and have the AI move for you instead - having this option as an extra button along with "Cast Spell / Use Ability", "Wait" and "Defend".
