What about adding something like it in HOMM5?
-The building would be available in high level, and can only be built in one faction.
-To build it, a lord must do a unique quest. Something like finding parts of a puzzle. The parts would be random, as in christmas event, the trinkets.
-The building would grant some extra population, some money production, (maybe 100 golds/hour, or +0,5 labour efficiency), and a unique bonus for each faction.
For example:
-Elves : +1 permanent luck
-Knights : +1 permanent morale
-DE : +2 permanent spell power
-Wiz: +2 permanent knowledge
-Demon: +10% gated creatures
-Necro: +15% skeletons to combat
-Barb: +2 permanent attack

the bonus for each faction might need to changed... what if you want to be migh as DE?
Or, a knight could easily prefer luck over morale. 15% more skeletons is nothing... a little over 50 more at faction level 9, i'd prefer the other bonuses.
I'd say you can choose +2 att/def/sp/knowledge or +1 luck/morale, or some balanced (different for each faction) racial skill improvement. |

I'd rather choose racial improvement, then. If we could choose from +2 parameters, -with so many might builds- it would result in +2 att/+1luck/+1 morale, and no one would choose the others. Yeah, spell wizzys maybe.
What I'd like to add to the game with this is.. diversity :) |
Hmm, I guess the racial bonus would have to be better than the others, considering the other's would help every faction, not just one. |

The idea is great and the quest should probably only be available to high-level chars (I'm thinking 10+ at least). About the bonuses, I kinda like the idea, the Grail structure after all is supposed to improve that faction specifically and the bonuses he said, though in need of a little balancing, are just that (remember that DE's will, in the future, have Sorcerer's Luck, so magic build will have a lot more power then it does now).
For the numbers... I'd say more like +1 Def & Morale for Knight, 1 SP & 1 Att for DE (or Att & Kno), 2 SP & 1 Knowledge for Wiz and +50% archers for necro (at least) OR, if you wanna change it into something else, half-cost double-power Raise Dead along with some extra skellies.

It would be good to have something permanent bonus for one faction, so people don't switch around as much... it gives people more identity when they're usually one faction, if you know what I mean. On .ru they do have 15 racial now, but I doubt many people will shoot for that rather than level 7/8 of everything... but then eventually everyoen will have level 15 in everything. |
Actually, I'm a DE obsessed, but I'll play other factions to benefit the bonuses from it.
To help people maintain their 'main' identity, I also thought about that the grail would enable creature recruit rebalancing.
What I mean is sg. like this:
If you recruit creatures, each tier is capped at a total max. number. With this eg. an elf would be able to recruit only sprites, or sprites+GMB - and more of them as the previous maximum - at the cost of recruiting no other types of creatures.
This idea needs a lot of balancing though, as a full-low level army benefits well from battle fury and hunter sets. So there should be a penalty added to this, but still, it would change the boring same army players. |

Of course, the quest would take much more time, than collecting 4 trinkets :)
It would be fun, if that could be done, that each part reveals a small area. Then you have to go to that area, and find the exact place.
As in HOMM, digging requies a whole day, here should also :)

Any idea like this has to be a relatively minor benefit, otherwise it is unbalancing. Imagine a demon having a mirror match with a demon, but not having this quest done 10% extra gating. Game over. You shouldn't be forced to do the quest to be competitive.
1000 gold a week is a decent reward. 10% greater chance of mercenary quest rewards, etc. |

2400 gold/day is quite much for a low level player. But for a let's say 14 level player? If one not logs in in a whole week, then he earns as much money to repair one of his items. Yeah. Though maybe you're right. :)

Yes, but most players are not active while being online.
Maybe you're right, but this would be a negative points for those, who don't have much time to play. But maybe those, who don't have much time, won't ever reach that high level. :P
