Solve the equation:
3-2x=6-4(x+2) |
help!!!!! |
there was just a topic about this very same equation. |
It is terribly easy anyways. (sorry about double post) |
x=-5/2 |
3-2x = 6-4x+2 [multiply out brackets]
3+2x = 6+2 [add 4x to each side]
3+2x = 8
2x = 8-3 [subtract 3 from each side]
2x = 5
x = 5/2 [divide each side by 2] |
Sorry first line was wrong
3-2x = 6-4x+2 [multiply out brackets]
should be
3-2x = 6-4x-8 [multiply out brackets]
therefore following lines are wrong, should be:
3+2x = 6 - 8 [add 4x each side]
3 + 2x = -2
2x = -2 -3
2x = -5
x = -5/2 |
