I like the idea of being able to play poker or hearts as it would create an easier social aspect to the game (how many people really hang around in chat?) It would also allow greater chances of increasing gambling guild (or other if created).
However, I would take back my support for the idea if it would create sufficient strain on teh server to lag it.

Yes but for example if there's a 99% liz wins from the swordsman, you get only 101% of what you bet back if he wins (1010 gold if you win) |
sometimes it help a lot.
