I am the unproud owner of 13 non-functional ps2's.
what is the weirdest way you had to make yours work.
One I would have to play one game to make another work.
Another I would have to put a significant amount of weight on it.
The other I couldn't figure a way around its draw back because it played all games but scratched the hell out of them until they became unusable.
Yet another took about an hour's worth of pressing the reset button
One of my homies had to smack his while loading to skip its "disc error read"
Another I had to have a big fan blowing behind it because the built in fan did not work.
So...the point of this is, what is the weirdest thing you've had to do to make your system work?
This is not limited to just ps2. All system quirks are welcome. | Original xbox. Intermittent power failure At 3 years old approx.
Temporary relief by placing a heavy object on 2 pole mains cable as close to unit as possible. This would jam the mains socket up into the PCB pads (the pins from the socket were severed from the board through some probable rough handling.
Until I finally god tired of it and pulled the thing apart (remember it was a damn pc so they[MS] made it hardish to open to deter modifications etc) and soldered the mains socket back to the PSU PCB ) Fixed it )
For the record there was significant pad erosion from the 230v sparks everytime the connection arced from socket pin to pad. More than 1/2 the pad was gone )
Also replaced original DVD drive prior to this problem.
Unit died some time later, unknown causes but likely PSU failure, by that time it was xbox 360 elite time ) |
