Authorai imrpovements vs caravan numbers
The big number off units in caravans is to counter the ai dumbness. Its ok, nothing should be too easy. So when can we expect lowering those numbers a bit due to last ai improvements? :P
You can forget about it. Imo caravans became much harder since the implementation of tier 7 creatures. So that was a bigger shock than improved AI, even further I can say that it's even better sometimes, because shrews are not always considered as target no.1 but liz get the beating more often and even Minos sometimes before shrews...
Yah same for altgrades system seems to treat it as the same level of dfifficulty. No matter it's for example regular crossbowmen or no ranged penalty crossbowmen :P Not to mention clerics instead of monks etc. And everybody loves the bunch of dragons u can not hide from (insane ini plus draconic breath). It's everything ok as ai is dumb but isnt it highest time to adjust numbers again?
It would be selfbalancing system if winnning increased difficulty for same amount as losing, but actually its like winning makes next caravan 5% harder and losing makes it 2% easier. So after winning against many caravans and they introduce changes like this, losing in 2% rate takes muuuuch muuuch longer than it should be. I mean what multiplayer game forces its users to mindlessly grind against ai for months? It's kinda repulsing players from the game and it isnt what we need i think...
I didnt even recocnized the changes in my ambushes. My winning ratio stayed the same.
#3: I agree, alt upgraded creatures are just pain in the ass... Big stack of forest breathers with insane defence is almost impossible to stop before they kill all of your shrews :S

About the second part: Well, yeah games shouldn't pursuade you to lose so you can win sometime in the future, this is more like a RL thing :) But nobody said this is an ordinary game

Forest Brethren have destroyed me in every Elven Caravan and Brigands mission.
i believe rangers are even worse.
i cant imagine when demons will turn into leapers :P And still the worst change for me wen monks suddenly turned into clerics :P

But the game, by your own admission, is discouraging from doing that, isn't it? Maybe the admins are encouraging you to engage more in the "multiplayer" aspect of the game.

what do u mean? That i should fporget about doing thief guild? I will need to lose the same amount of battles regardless of i am engaged in multiplayer as i would not touch it at all.

You can Feel lucky that they didn't resurect the pallys :)
Maybe we will soon get lame horses and hotdogs in ambush.
well, for the exp / fsp ratio its good :D

because with the old AI and old units you sometimes had 10 000 + experience and only one single fsp point.

Now with the new units, you will lose because they are too hard. Until their numbers are much smaller, like moro showed.
4500 exp only :) Thats ratio is twice as good

You really show us a won ambush as an example how unfair hard it became?
exponentially degrading my win%, soon new players cant reach even TG5 if continues, because need to loose 70% of time to get a win.
my current win% is 10%, overall about 30%; talking about TG only.
TG is a must at the end, but rules has changed, old players always gets best of it at the end, but what to do, its normally like that, need to protect oldest favorites:)=
on .ru is difference already notable due to their prior experience with rule changing. result: new player cant reach TG5 without 70% of loss.
what is fair? nothing is fair!
best solution: make it slightly easier, because right now, oldest ones are overprotected with rules. should be able to reach their level if spent bit less time than they did, not like right now when u need to invest almost 50% more time than they actually did!!
