The animation on the Central Square has grown greatly over the last hours. Following the Empire's tradition of celebrating the Saint Valentine's day and displaying the tokens of affection to their beloved ones, the most impatient Lords and Ladies gathered around the Palace to be the first to get their portion of beautiful expressive cards.
This year's stock of Valentine's cards was supposed to arrive in a caravan from Blooming Glade to the Great Capital exactly one hour before the beginning of the Day of Affection; however, something obviously went not according to plan, the crowd stood shifting legs and yawning, gradually increasing the volume of their murmurs.
The court pages, as usual serving as main sources of gossips, spread rumours about the caravan being ambushed by the horrific demons and destroying it in wrathful fires...
These rumours were mostly dismissed, but some details made the Lords frown in speculations. Neutral demons were not organised enough to ambush Empire's strategic caravans. The Infernals were destroyed in the Pandemonium and the gates were long sealed. The Empire demons would evidently not perform similar actions... What kind of Demons could they be?
Finally, two courtiers appeared from the Palace gates and proceeded to the Central Square. They nailed several huge boards to the trees and posts on the Central Square and retired without spelling a word.
The boards read:
"Lordship,
Unfortunately, the caravan with the Valentine's cards was ambushed by the remainder of the Infernals that penetrated the Empire through the Demon portals. The Empire pathfinders have traced their drawback to the caves of Ridge of Hope. It is believed that the remains of the Valentine's cards lot are kept there.
Lords of combat level 3 and above who wish to send the Valentine's cards to express their affection will have to assault the base of surviving Infernals and capture those cards in combat."
Dear players,
This year's event provides a unique opportunity to prove your love, attention, gratitude or any other feeling you wish to express through action. To send any amount of Valentine's cards, you would have to win them off the nasty Demons! This way, your words will have even more weight in the eyes of your chosen ones.
As usual, the Lord and Lady with the most cards will be named Valentines of 2011!
