Authordark elf: stats, talents, tactics, strategy

The initial comment about spliting more troops and taking rataliation was meant in general, so I have no idea why you focused only on CG battles now? Off course it would be stupid to use stacks of 1 creature there for retail.
Rather take into consideration hunts and merc quests.

About my playing stile and type of battles I do... I will abstain to comment
there something players should aware. we are not in HoMM where your major strength come from mid-high tier unit.

in LWM, our major strength / damage output unit were from those mid-low tier unit: such as shrew, efk, orc warchief and so on.

somehow, most lords will try to finish those high tier unit asap to prevent its special abilities hurt the troops such as draconic breathe ability which could hurt 2 stacks in same time. even with better stats, high tier creature seldom deliver higher damage output in most case due to low recruitment.

of course, you have some exception like behemonth which come with ignore def ability, royal griffin with battle dive can hurt opponents without take retal.

in general, high tier creature is more like support unit for low tier. sacrifice them to take retal for your low tier unit to deal a safe attack.

yet, you still have another way to overcome the retaliation problem. you got a dark spell call 'confusion' for that purpose. although it cant work on some unit such as undead, machine and elemental; but it still come in handy in most cases.

Any ideas to win this? A lot of AP? Another strategy?
for akz: You have to return with main stack of shrews, don't stay there in close range. Same goes with liz and minos: move them forward so they can attack in next move but avoid being in close range. Leave home 1 poisonner and divide shrews in 1 more stack instead.
Hope for less stacks of enemy shooters or at least better order.
When dark elves don't take poisoners, elves come in flocks to duel. But when u take poisoners , elves mysteriously vanish
poisoners make all the diff. against elves :P

@ Akz : Yeah .. split 1 more shrews there .. keep striking and return .. for hydras .. try to go to the middle of the battlefield .. coz usually shooters will gather there .. :) then u can kill them easier .. :) Bring morale is good for ur hydras .. :)

For Hunt & merc quest -- Mightbuild

For PvP battle -- Magicbuild.

Bcoz we DElves r not like wiz to get bonus damage in hunt too.So it will b tough to hunt & do quest with magicbuild.
for Sudipto : bring 20 mana + 2 spell and u can use darkness magic like disrupt or delay .. :) that will be better for ur DE.. but keep counting ur shrews damages what ever ur build .. :) as they are ur best strikers .. :)
thanks a lot, guys, also for the example. Because of my low faction level my creatures are so weak in min AP sometimes...but I try to learn a good strategy...
for akz: If u go with stats I gave, no matter u have FL 1, shrews and ur another units are still insane .. :) U should build Minos Soldiers too .. :)

2 poisoners and usually better than 1 mino bcause they have higher ini and so can poison weak shooters, high def/low hp units. So poisoners better till mino soldiers come. This is the case in PvP. In hunts they are only good for taking retail.
I use 20 mana and put rest in attack. Disruption ray and delay are awesome. Delay in particular can change the tide of battle.
So what build DE will b more useful in minor tourny.. Might or Magic???
Though I m favour of Magic.. wht is others opinion???

if ne1 can supply some battle link of previous tourny I think we all will b thnkful to him/her.

By the way is thr ne LVL10 Mage DE out thr?Plz come out from the dark then ;)
better still in might .. :) for mana : 20 mana and 2 spell for delay .. :)
