With the end of the Gambler’s League tournaments for some while, the Lords of the land have been devoid of serious tavern competitions. Amidst tones of request for a revival of the Gambler’s League, this tournament is an effort to bring back the competitive side of tavern games.
1. Participation in the tournament is permissible for all main characters registered in Lords of War and Money and above combat level (CL) 3 in the same.
1.1.1. Multiple/Alternative characters of the main account cannot participate in the tournament.
1.1.2. Main characters playing from the same IP can participate in the tournament.
1.1.3. Some other exceptions which may arise could be enforced on a case by case basis as decided by the tournament administration.
1.2. Contestants satisfying all the above criterions must transfer 500 gold in a single transaction to the player Vlaer, with the transfer description ‘Entry fee for Tavern Tournament’ or similar which uniquely describes the purpose of this transfer, in order to participate in this tournament.
1.2.1. In case a participant forgets to put in the transfer description or has done any mistake in typing in the same, he/she should transfer an extra 1 gold to player Vlaer with the required transfer description.
1.2.2. Failure to comply with any of the above rules will lead to the cancellation of participation.
1.2.3. Exceptions shall be entertained only on a case by case basis as decided by the tournament administration.
1.3. Upon completion of the above procedures, the registered participant shall receive a Private Message (PM) from one of the game administrators confirming their registration for the tournament.
2. All the entry fees collected by the tournament administration from the participants shall be used completely for contribution to the tournament’s prize pot.
3. The tournament shall comprise of participants competing against each other in a single elimination competition format.
3.1. The brackets for the tournament will be generated randomly; no preference/seeding on the basis of any criteria shall be considered for the same. The brackets will be generated and posted on the free bracket creation and hosting site http://www.challonge.com. The links to the brackets shall be notified by the tournament administration to all participants.
3.2. Participants shall be given a maximum period of 2 days to complete each round in the tournament. The round has to be completed within this particular time frame itself in any case.
3.2.1. Within this time frame, the participants facing each other in that particular round are to contact each other and arrange a match whenever possible.
3.2.2. Any participant showing any kind of reluctancy to play their match can be disqualified from participating in further rounds.
4. At the end of the tournament, the players holding the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions will be declared by the tournament administration and they will be rewarded from the prize pot as follows:
Winner: 50% of the prize pot
Runner Up: 30% of the prize pot
Second Runner Up: 20% of prize pot
4.1. The prizes shall be dispensed to the winners within two weeks after the tournament has ended.
4.2. The winners shall also be featured in a special hall of fame showcasing their incredible success in the tournament.
5. Donations to the prize pot are very much required and any donations for the tournament shall be completely put into the prize pot.
5.1. Donators must transfer their donations to Vlaer with the transfer description as ‘Donation to Tavern Tournament prize pot’ or similar.
6. The tournament administration holds the right to make, amend or discard any of the above rules if it is found to interfere in the tournament’s just and fair proceedings.
6.1. Any disputes are subject to Lords of War and Money jurisdiction only, exclusively at the Complaints and Applications – Finance and Others forum. |
7.1. All entrance fees/donations to the tournament are non-refundable.
7.2. All participants/tournament administrators must have their mail and transfer filters removed, as well as get the participants’ name off their blacklist if any in order to facilitate flawless communication.
7.3. In case a match does not take place where both participants are eager to play the match, a lucky draw shall be taken based on the game’s roulette system to ensure fair decisions.
7.4. Disciplinary action can be taken against those found violating the game rules.

For those who don’t want to go through all that stuff written above, here is a shorter version of the whole thing.
Basically, this is a full fledged tavern tournament. The tournament shall have an entrance fee for all participants, kept at a mere 500 gold so that it is affordable to everyone. All the gold collected from the entrance fees shall be used to give out rewards/prizes to the winners of the tournament. The tournament shall comprise of a single elimination format, and each round will have a maximum time of 2 days to be completed. The participants shall be themselves arranging a match with their opponents within this time frame. In case the match does not take place, a random draw will decide who’ll proceed to the next round. Donations to the prize pot are accepted and very much needed and shall be completely used to contribute to the prize pot.

| In the previous thread, Baweja had posted a very thought-provoking query: Why keep this tournament when an official MCC one is going to be conducted? First of all, we have no idea when the tournament will be held. Secondly, MCC does not extend to all players. Last, one tavern game in 2 days will not make one's schedule much hectic. |

I forgot to include it in the first post, I am really sorry for that.
The default location for the tournament matches to take place is East Bay (EB). If both participants facing each other agree to have a match at a different location, it is permitted, though if they reach no consensus, the match shall take place at the default location (East Bay). Also, if a fight has taken place, rematch won't be allowed unless both parties agree and the reason is valid. |
