The Dreadbane's retribution strike ability says that the chain damage should be equivalent to 1 creatures strike, however, when facing AI controlled dreadbanes, the damage is equal to the full stacks damage. Since the player controlled dreadbanes do not have that happen, it seems safe to say this is a bug.

Because it would be pretty retarded if 100 beastbanes would deal the same amount of damage as 1 beastbane.
It is just a small translation error;
The damage dealt by the lightning is equal to the one of the creature's ordinary attack
