taken Her so long to awaken..."
"I'm telling you, there is nothing to worry about!" - one of the two Sphynx guardians
slapped the other on the shoulder. "She has existed for centuries before you and me,
Strein, and every year the incarnation happened on this very day. The torrents of magical
energies are weak this year, you can feel it yourself!
Strein sniffed the air with his unerring sense of smell, inherent to every feline. He
frowned. "I envy your confidence. I cannot make myself be at ease though"
"Look, the mages at the Academy..."
"Don't tell me about mages!" - Strein growled fiercely, demonstrating his fangs in a
grin. "You and I both know how and why our kind joined the wizards, but our true,
ancient purpose is to serve Her and protect Her, not them, not even the Empress... Hmph,
what is this?!"
A long queue of lords and ladies of every faction of the Empire had just skirted the
mountain and carefully advanced towards the plain in several columns. They weren't
making much noise individually, but the rattle of dozens of armoured boots disturbed the
silence greatly. Upon reaching a distance of several hundred feet, the aspirants slowed
their steps causing minor cofusion inside the procession, and concentrated an anticipating
gaze on the graceful statue.
"There you go, those parasites are already here! And She is yet..."
"And I am ready to welcome them and to test them!"
The avatar of Christmas sat behind Her guardians, smiling kindly. She blinked several
times before slowly raising Her head, stretching Her neck a little and producing an
elegant yawn.
Strein and his companion both bowed. The grouchy guardian dropped his anxiety, he
looked friendly and peaceful again. He was the first to step out and motion those to be
tested by the Sphynx to form a one column queue.
The Christmas had officially arrived...

This Christmas, the following features will be introduced until December, 27th included:
- Troops recover 1000% faster;
- Mana recovers 1000% faster;
- The Sphynx offers you a challenge of answering Her cryptic riddles about the world of
LordsWM. The more questions you reply correctly, the better rewards you may choose from;
- Cristmas Deposit vault has been filled with presents. The shipment of trinket keys has
been stolen and they are now scattered throughout the Empire, there is a chance to find
them in every combat. Each Vault compartment requires 4 trinkets to open it, the central
compartment may only be opened after all around it have been looted.
- The Christmas tree will again appear on every battlefield to diversify your tacyics and
to tune up your mood for upcoming festivities.
