AuthorAmalgamation of minds
The arrival of overseas fugitives has brought many interesting events to the Empire. The heroes and the lords were making their steps at socializing, comparing their military prowess in the arena and communicating with each other; the officials were especially happy with the arrival of survived Councilors of the old Empire who willingly shared their experience in managing different aspects of Empire life. Arabat Flamesoul the fourth has often been spotted in company Her Majesty, interrogated, among other things, about the economic peculiarities of the Lost Empire; Kalirosh and Grammith seemed to have become sidekicks, spending long hours in conversations and mutual advices.

Yet, no one could be happier about this reunion than Abu-Bakir, the headmaster of the Academy of Magical sciences of the great Empire. When he learned that two brightest minds of the overseas, Bilir and Kh'Everst, survived the eruption and arrived at the new land, he could barely imagine how deep a fount of wisdom the Academy was going to acquire. For many weeks, the two councilors were not seen anywhere outside: both spend all that time in the Academy in conversations with Abu-Bakir, briefly interrupting for hours of sleep when the exhausted minds could not continue their feast.

...Outstanding practician, Abu-Bakir had always tended to the application of the Magical research. Many ingenious ways of applying Magic in military purposes as well as everyday trivial life, either invented by him, or developed under his indirect guidance, have earned him the title of Court wizard and a fame of brilliant practical intellect.
Bilir's lost Academy could not boast of such vast history of applied science; partially due to his nature of theorist. Bilir's disciples were all engaged in deep theoretical studies, which perhaps could not leave much room for unleashing imagination and giving way to practical discoveries. As a result, Bilir appeared to have overcome Abu-Bakir in some fields with theoretical research of Magic, and, assisted by Kh'Everst, whose innate adaptivity allowed him to quickly comprehend and systematize the wizard councilor's theories, he was in course of composing a detailed work on the structure of Matter and Time of their Universe.

Time, unexpectedly for Bilir, appeared to be a subject of immense scientific interest for Abu-Bakir, and in some quarter of an hour, the wizard knew why.
Last year, the genius wizard managed to open and sustain for 5 days a Portal that allowed the Academics to travel back in forth in time and lead unique, precious research. The expedition had faced resistance on the other side of the portal, but the Heroes of the Empire willingly joined the Academics and provided protection for the defenseless researchers.

Bilir listened with awe, even with envy. What a tremendous opportunity this could be for him to advance in his research of Time! Many questionable hypotheses could be laid to test, and many more could be formed...
Abu-Bakir waited a short pause before assuming an important look and notifying his colleague about the details of portal opening. Crystals of time, collected during the last war, and the constellation of Behemoth above the Sunny city - were the two main conditions. And far not all crystals have been used up during the previous expedition.
They only needed to wait for one thing...
