I find it really necessary to lighten the rules of the trade forums. In misc and lease and hunter etc. they really want you to put exact brackets. A bracket here or there and you have to go back doing the hard work all over again. Half the threads get locked up due to this. Its pretty difficult to be a perfectionist. And if the message is clear, even though we added a bracket or two more or less, does it really matter?
I hope you guys understand what I mean. Its not the mistake of forum mods out there they are just doing their job but the admins have to work too allow the forum mods to use common sense. I mean that if the message is clear, no point closing threads. By allowing mods to use common sense I mean mods shouldnt follow the admin setup completely. They can allow if its a bit here and there.
Obviously if there is a big mistake close the thread.

What's clear to some may not seem clear to others. That being said, having a template to use makes the forums easier to read and they look cleaner. I can definitely see where you come from but I don't think this is a necessary change.
After all, is it really that difficult to copy and paste [Transaction type][Item][Mod][Rent period or Price] and fill in your information? |

It not only make forum organised but it will make searching for the required item on the forum easier.
Let say i want to buy thief arts then i would enter this string into the search field at the bottom of the forum main page "[buy][thief arts ".

So if you follow this system then there is greater chance of getting a deal. |

But the seller might do that as well? At least using the forum search option you won't need to continuously bump the topic every couple of minutes to be seen.
Look on the bright side, simply having your topic closed isn't really an issue at all in the long run, since you can just make a new topic. Unless lengthy forum bans were being given out, I don't know if that is something that needs to be changed. There might be some rules that can be eased a little, but this isn't really one in my opinion. |
